Great result for us.
A win for us this week will cement top 4 by a win and decent %

I think most of us were hoping for another draw

That was epic Daicos. Clinical. Blues won’t lose 3 on the trot unfortunately.

They will.
they are [censored] in the semi last year we dominated with with no forward line. Carlton won’t get within 4 goals of us next week..

Not great when Pies win, but great when Blues lose.

Love that the Blues lost, hate that the Filth won.

Is that a good thing?

Cripps was Crapp !

Dam, I think it's worse that they won by such a small margin.

Was hoping for a draw in the end.

Of course it had to be daicos that kicked the sealer.

That final centre bounce was horrible by the carlton mids.

Although I laughed that hodgey was saying that was deliberate when pendles kicked it. That would make the pies fans happy

Zero defensive pressure on Daicos in that stoppage set up in that last score.

Absolute coach killer. Tight game like that with a minute to go everyone who's played footy would know that the golden rule in that situation would be to go full lock down on your opponent and number up around stoppage.

Turn the contest into a complete grind by not only chewing up as much seconds as you can but also gain as much metres forward as possible.

Someone is going to cop it in the Monday team review..

Carlton have been really good at winning close ones recently but have lost three in a row.

Walsh got left behind by Daicos. He’ll be filthy. Expect him to come out red hot next week.

The Zac Williams sub is to blame for that.

There were a lot of Carlton ball watchers in this match.

So you wouldn't have him playing for us then?

I hate the filth. That daicos goal made me vomit.

Anyone have an idea of the %win rate for teams on back to back 6 day breaks in recent years?

Carlton are on back to back 6 day breaks next week which surely isn’t a bad thing for us.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
