some of st Kilda's handball chains are comical. They are a very average football team.

They've over used it badly.   Particularly when they've done some good work prior through the middle to get it to a decent launching spot then go another handball instead of a quick kick inside and then turn the ball over.

They're also not quite as clean in general vs Port.

If they clean those two aspects up and start winning the odd center clearance they're still a reasonable chance though.

Port are very good rebound / sling shot show ponies and pretty decent at CBs but that's about it.

Luke Darcy commentary.

Boundary dangerous tackle decision. Darcy "he deliberately smacked the ground with his free hand to exaggerate contact". 3 mins later with Alir. "Higgins is in trouble for that tackle as he pinned both arms"
Do they realise how f#%*&  stupid they sound?

Possibly, but I am signing out for the night.

You can say that again.  Anything that resembles something that 'might' be a free to Port and that whistle's a blowin' quicker than you can say "Free kick Port"

Exactly what I was thinking! I wondered if they at some point realised how ridiculous they were being but were too deep into the conversation to stop. Luke Hodge in particular sounded like he was realising the stupidity, mid-sentence. 😅

Please just call him Hodge 😂

Or podge.

Podge = obese.

Obese rhymes with police.

The police were lead by Sting.

Bees sting and they like flowers.

So I’ll call Hodge daffodil from now on.

Hahahahahahahaha, can we get these chips into the balls next year please? Jesus

Wait was that in??

2nd edit - I think Daffodil was correct and it was just in.

They were all deep in thunk

Fire that goal umpire. Goal umpire was in the best possible to call that a point. The ball was more than a metre over the line.

These umpires, just their usual putrid performance. Why do we even have goal line umpires? They can't make a decision to save their lives.🤢🤢🤢

7 frees to 1 that quarter. 20 to 8 for the game.

Port fans still booing the umpires.

Yes the Adelaide teams always get a bad run from the umpires.

Ask any Port fan and they will tell you that every one of the 8 frees Saints have got was an incorrect decision.

Shouldn’t be any. If you’re being tackled and still choose to try and make a disposal while off balance and about to hit your head if you hit the ground and choose not to brace yourself/body in favour of the potential disposalit’s all on you me thinks.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.
