GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Brisbane

Unfortunately we paying the price of playing a team that is hurting losing the gf, has a shocking record here & wants to prove they dont and has had a bad start to the season and know they need to win

Aside from Taj and Salem, any of these guys wanna show up tonight.

Only positive is that we just could not be worse. It looks like the two games in Adelaide have taken too much out of us. Total lack of effort.

Btw we gifted two goals, the Howes turnover and the 50m penalty to May. Score should be 34 to 16

Well anyone can beat the Crows...Hawks and dogs.

Clearly lions have put us where we belong.

Insipid effort by our midfielders...Captain and every single fwd player.

Lazy, week and uninterested performances by fifteen players.

Maybe two weeks away have worn us out but this is very poor.

Oliver can't touch it.

Very flat after those two games in succession in Adelaide. Carrying too many blokes who are sore or underdone or non existent Oliver, Brown, Petty, Chandler, jvr, billings, woey, Salem (inj) ,fritsch

If we're tired after being up for a month, you have to wonder how the coaches didn't see it through the week. If we thought we'd just turn up then the players need to get their heads checked. This is last year's grand finalists we're playing.

One of our worst quarters in a long time.

we aren’t interested in moving it forwards quickly, as it could expose us going the other way (even though we’re down by 5 goals 🤦‍♂️).

why are we afraid of scoring?

This is simplistic. We are down in all areas aside from goal accuracy compared to last year and we are getting smoked by a team that is going moderate to good in all areas aside from accuracy. Just so happens there slotting them tonight.

Petty doesn’t give a stuff. Looks like he has checked out. Only positive is Rivers.

Petty worst game ever.

Missing Kosi badly. Could spark our midfield right now.

Billings has to go out.

Petty is also in danger.

MAX GAWN is a poor ruckman, Ive thought this for a while, rarely feeds our mids. Great around the ground marking etc but a poor ruckman at centre bounces!

Your better than that, maybe take a breath before you waffle

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
