On the other hand nice that Jayden can sing the song today

This is the only reason I’m still watching this. But I expect I’ll have to endure the start of Bounce in order to see it.

After todays results its hard not seeing North finishing bottom 2 again. I'm starting to feel sorry for them as we know the feeling of constantly losing year on year.

That’s why Hardwick got ‘tired’ of coaching and left to not be smeared with these type of losses

It's tough and if it was us I would have been screaming and now I'd be broken. But you're right. 1 or 2 too many teams in Victoria for long term.

And bringing in a Tassie team kills their Tassie connection, and their sponsorship including the AFLW opportunity.

I would like to know what their strategy is to stay viable.

North’s Survival hinged on James Brayshaw having a Grand Solution, where is it? Absolutely non existent,

now we have 3 sides (possibly 4), who all need top end talent. You can’t give assistance to 1 Club & not the others.
we won’t have 19 Clubs for long, there will be a 20th, so the AFL has created a major problem, that I don’t think it saw coming

I don’t know the answer, but North staying in Melbourne has really given them a headache

More money from the AFL just like GWS and GCS etc.

AFL never makes hard decisions just like politicians. Too much backlash

GWS and GCS make sense as money pits though. They serve a purpose to grow the game in regions where they need extra media exposure. Being a two team town creates a local rivalry which makes the competition feel legitimate too (ie not a Vic comp with a single local presence).

Pumping money into North doesn't serve that purpose at the moment, and North must realise it isnt a viable long term solution.

Banking on the AFL being too weak to make a real decision is a short term solution based on current management, they must know things could change in an instant.

Ugh the cheek.
Welcome to our world, Vossy

While he can’t publicly bag the review system or the umpires, Voss is clearly spewing about the Owies (deemed touched) goal in the third quarter…

You didn’t have the benefit of seeing what happened, huh Vossy. Well, try having the benefit of seeing what happened and still getting stiffed. That’s so much worse. Everyone behind the goals at last year’s semi had the benefit of seeing what happened when Caleb Marchbank didn’t touch the ball. Hurts when the shoe’s on the other foot, doesn’t it?!

North should head to Canberra. Along with adjacent areas of Southern NSW (traditional Australian Rules Football territory) it has a population base possibly larger than Tasmania. Playing a few Northern Territory games could also be an idea.

GWS playing some matches in Canberra just dilutes the push into Western Sydney IMO.

As bad as Hawks & Tigers are, they have HUGE injury lists so there is no way to accurately assess them.

And as bad as the Roos are, I'm not getting sucked in at all. They are doing exactly what Clarkson did at the Hawks in his first 2 years and with his track record the club will just wear all the carp. The current difficulty is, they don't have a Buddy Franklin and they need 2 large backmen.

North should move to play at Geelong. With the population growth happening to the West of Melbourne, Geelong, and Surf Coast it makes a lot of sense, and also…

It would really annoy Geelong, and that’s always a good thing.

In that universe,  how funny would it be if the Govt mandated that they share Kardinia Park 50:50 with the Cats due to the significant taxpayer funds thst have gone into its development. 🤣

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
