I don’t think we’ll play Tholstrop tomorrow night. If we were going to select him for his debut, then they would have made an announcement like they did with Billings, Howes and Windsor when they made their debuts for the club.

Imagine getting between a yummy Kranksy and a ravenous Franky.

While I'm probably not as Cranky as Franky, i'm also in the too early for May camp.

Big match against the Lions looming next week.  I'd save Maysie for that and allow him the extra week to shake any soreness off.

We can play Petty back and bring Tommo in to cover the defence this week.

Completely agree.

The Crows will be a tough prospect, but I see the Lions as a bigger game - and we won't want to lose to them on our turf - and for that we need as many of our guys fit. May COULD return this week, but whether he should is another question. We can cover May against the Crows I reckon.

Langdon "ticked all the boxes" after his rib injury yet he played with 2 sleeping bags wrapped around his chest & struggled for several games.

Players like May are veterans & should be wrapped in cotton wool.

I don't think cotton wool would provide any more protection than two sleeping bags.

I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between sleeping bags and cotton wool myself.

I'd love to see the re-instatement of a proper reserves competition. However, how would that work in the northern States? Where would Gold Coast and GWS find enough players to make up a seconds squad? I suspect that may be one of the main reasons for the mess which is the VFL competition at the moment.

Well they have their VFL squads currently so I’m sure those players would just “transfer” over. I think the AFL’s lists will stay the same size, it won’t be a fully senior listed 2’s side. It’ll just be the VFL sides ‘fill ins’ playing the seconds comp with the fringe AFL players.

Unless Melbourne rule May out for 6+ weeks, playing him this week over any other poses no more risk than the next. Keeping him out of the Adelaide match then playing him against Brisbane makes absolutely 0 difference to his recovery.

Who else thinks the "Viney is ill" rumour is all part of a cunning plan to shake the tag!

Not me! I don’t think we play those games!
Jack certainly wasn’t training with the group this morning, and the media who were present were all over it!  The Dee’s fans who were there were abuzz with the rumour.
I did hear a fellow Dees fan ask a player whether Jack would ‘get up for the game’ and the response was “We don’t know at this stage”.

Cunning plan confirmed thx DeeOld!

I remember Brent Maloney declaring himself fit after a virus and he played like he had leprosy, mad cow, gout,  dysentry and a touch of mother in law syndrome! Suffice to say he never got near the ball. Between selecting May, Viney and Chandler I can see this backfiring Big Time!😵‍💫

The  VFL is a dog’s dinner because it is way too large, and because it has uneven numbers hence rollin rollin rollin bloody byes.  Did I understand that lest season some clubs didn’t even meet?

Let Sydney and Queensland have a 4 team comp - they could introduce some novelty events with flares and dancing girls as many of the locals don’t understand footy.

Or, if they are happy to travel regularly on limited resources then an 18 team comp with curtain raisers for AFL games.

I asked Maisie if he would be playing tomorrow.  Responded with a cheesy grin: “I think so, if it I get hit it will hurt, but I’ll just have to wear it”.

It shouldn't be about May having the courage to tolerate short term pain, it's about potential to do more permanent damage to his recovering injury.
Broken ribs, plus I think they said a cracked transverse process. That's part of the vertebra.  I'd let it repair.

That's probably the silliest comment ever posted. Maybe they can use that logic for acl injuries.
