The Demons' outcome of a smashing victory will depend heavily on the small brigade running Port ragged.ย ย

Yep. Port will be quick no doubt, but reckon they kamikaze run leading to fatigue later in games. If weโ€™re smart, our smalls (particularly forwards) will be able to hurt them on the transition.

Also need to watch out for Marshall, he usually reserves some of his best games for us.

I'll be watching the match at the Sporting Globe (Richmond version). Any other Demonlanders going there?

PS. I'll be easy to identify ... an old man with a Demons scarf.

Are you my father?

Which part?

I really want Petty playing forward but I'll understand if he doesn't.

The fact that Hore is in bodes well for it to happen.

Those two early marks he took last week reminded me of how much of a good fwd target he is.

Bbb,Petty and Jvr will be tough to counter.

Might be the afternoon of slugging ice cold beers but I reckon weโ€™ll make a serious statement tonight.ย

Deeโ€™s by plentyย

Disaster ... the Sporting Globe (Richmond) is closed for renos.

Can someone else suggest another suitable inner city pub at which to watch the match?

Beg to differ on Mayโ€™s performance/presence in the 2021 Grand Final. Definitely not a cardboard cutout, gave his fellow defenders and teammates a great deal of confidence. Had โ€˜Astroboyโ€™ and his teammates totally bluffed. He was still standing 24 hours after the final siren.

Agree.ย  Blanketed Naughton, as he has done countless times.ย  Dogs goals came from bontempelli and unlikely sources like Treloar and Johanissen, talls couldn't get a snifter...

Hey Bingers! Can you make your way to South Melb? 50 Tope Street. Neitaโ€™s brand spanking new pub called Brewmanity. Neitaโ€™s gonna be there, as well as Robbo and Brad Green and members of the DA who arenโ€™t here in Adel.

Then let me know what itโ€™s like coz Iโ€™ll be going there to watch Thursdayโ€™s match. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ

Definitely, the umps ....ย

Should we adjust expectations for this game?

Port are a good side and a tough ask at home.

I believe we are good enough but it's going to be difficult.

Will need our best from our mids and some luck re no injuries.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
