Fantastic team effort. Mays aggression was just what the boys needed today. There was no weakness in our system today from what I saw. Go Dee’s ❤️💙

Nice win, great to see new/emerging players stepping up, but amongst it all:

- Salem isn't yet entirely convincing as a mid

- Sparrow? This was supposed to be the year he took the next step.

To finish with a positive: great management of Max, running him in shorter bursts with frequent breaks. Smart.

BBB straightens us up for sure. Hopefully he can hold the fort for a couple of weeks as Petty builds some match fitness.

Hopefully he keeps improving and we see the two of them up fwd.

A comprehensive performance after a jittery first 5 minutes or so. The leaders really stood up and Windsor showed he has the tools to be something quite special. A clean bill of health and a dominant win on a glorious day, what else can you ask for 😈

Brown really straightened us up, now the question is who makes wy for Petty? A much better mix of smalls as well with Koz, Billings and Chandler rather than Chandler, Spargo & Laurie

I was wrong about TMac,... thought he was slow, just think it's slow to turn, so having him down back isn't too bad, and was good by foot.

Why?

Clarry was epic today. His disposal had an extra element today. I can’t remember a long high kick going forward….

TMac was surprisingly solid today. I had forgotten his defensive capabilities.

Chandler was massive today. He may have kicked 3 goals, but it’s his defensive terrier like acts that make him impressive. He will have quiet days, but is always busy, defensive and a contributor.

Howes will be a player.

A less mobile BBB is better than Schache.

Plenty to like.

bb, chandler, billings all good. Tmac some wayward disposal but not bad.

Clarry in a champion. Max very good. Trac in bursts was good.

fritschy was off. Sparrow peripheral.

kicking and handling skills clunky at times.

great to win the first win under the belt.

smashing day at the g.

go dees

Salem good, not great. Sparrow was very good v Carlton a couple of weeks back, and having Petracca, Viney and Clarry performing, gives him some time, needs to lift though.

JVR competed in the ruck even though undersized. So much more competitive  than Schache.

Very good win! We looked like a very different side to last week. We actually looked to use the corridor more and take the game on. Good signs.

Gawn was BOG for me. He absolutely monstered English. Oliver, May, Trac and Viney were also very good.

Also a special shout to Billings. He should never have been used as a sub against the Swans. His ball use was brilliant.

The Tracc/Oliver combo with Viney nearby is solid as a rock - and great to see.

Indeed.

Tracc was far and away the best player IMO.

13 score involvements is nuts.

I think McVee has already moved into that spot where we could take what he does for granted because it's just always there.

But I know no-one here takes him for granted!

I’m with you. Based on what we saw today, Billing’s clearly ahead of Laurie.
Spargs has credits, but is quickly running out of them.

Commentator dwelling on Clarrie's "back-story". Carry, clearly tensed up....

Was at game and didn't see interview but the highlight for me was seeing how happy he looks and the roar from the crowd when he ran off after setting up Roo's goal in the last.

He could not wipe the smile from his face. ❤️💙

Kozzie and Oliver kicking to teammates in the last instead of trying for glory is huge reason to be optimistic. Haven’t seen that in this team for a long time and I loved it. Both produced goals.

Kicking was much improved on the whole, with still a whole lot of work to do.

That bulldogs backline is probably going to be the smallest we play all year, but not taking anything away from our boys, that scoreline is exactly what it should’ve been for that backline. Richards and Khamis playing on BBB at times, Richards is a flanker and Khamis is barely a third tall.

A lot of improvement from last week though thankfully.

Go Dees!

I didn’t see that GtG. Will have to check out the replay.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
