When Collingwood lose I actually enjoy roaming Brian.  But he should have a red nose.  But I enjoy it good for a laugh

Is anyone watching the fox coverage? Did anyone else see the clip that jordan Lewis showed where Sydney were running it through the middle and Lewis was highlighting the lack of pressure then the clip showed Degoey and Maynard giving each other a high 5 in the middle.

Sydney kicked a goal from that

If I saw 2 Melbourne players do that while the opposition team were running down and scoring a goal I'd be mad.

Was recently telling another DL-er that your profile pic is hands down my favourite on this site. It’s simply never not funny 😁

Sydney not interested in taking clean possessions all the time. Very good at: hand passing out to space, tapping, jumping, punching the ball forward, gut running both ways until they get that clean possession that sets them up. They look super fast and fit. Did not expect them to do that at The G. We need to take the game on rather than play safe footy. Hoping to see some drive and flair against the Dogs.

What game did you watch?

Tonight's game with Sydney playing it, and was like every other Sydney game played for the last twenty years.

Congest the game, form and scrum(or whatever they call it in rugby when they stop/start), then congest again, frustrate, and break if you can.

Horrible to watch.

Looks like the elastic band has finally snapped with the Magpies. 2 full seasons of playing the way they did was always going to be unsustainable, unfortunately they managed to get a flag during that period.

Hunger and momentum are hard things to hold on to, we’ve seen us have it and then lose it. We need to get it again quick, or our window will indeed close.

The handball, tap on  get it forward at cost method was really noticeable wasn't it.

It's actually what we are trying to do, so I'd disagree we're playing safe, at least in the three games we've played thus far.

The tigers have played a similar model too in their four games ie lots of  chaotic handballing and knock on with a focus on forward movement and swarming.

Perhaps it's this years version of the Pies 2022 and 2023 fast translation from half back method with the same wave running and handballs, but with less kicking (ie Pies used aggressive, quality kicking to cut through zones - whilst still using hand to link up).

What was impressive about the Swans tonight was they also kicked super well.

That said, they had a lot of kicks under no pressure. Pies were gassed.

Maynard told DeGoey the Pies have two byes this season, DeGoey was just happy he gets an extra trip to Bali.

We will have a better clue tomorrow as to if our efforts against the swans, on their ground, in tough conditions, with a makeshift forward line was actually pretty admirable.

Seeing what they did to the pies last night, on a full size ground, does give the impression they are contenders.

Exciting times for bloods fans

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
