Not sure which is most annoying... the Daicos worship, the cheering for Maynard, or the 'Mason Cox has done that well' every time the ball spins ineffectually off him.

Ah well, come on Hogan, kick seven and make 'em cry.

McStay is exactly the forward Petty needs to be for us next year.

he’s kicked 18 goals.

reckon Petty could be better

Cheering Maynard like his is some kind of hero. Feck…

I still think someone should have laid him out after his hit. As in, made sure he was knocked out. No matter the consequences . As bandit heeler says, it’s gotta be done

GWS just need to weather the early storm. Need a settler

TV has been turned off

Pies will smash them

Is there. no advantage if a 50 m is called?  New one to me.

Rare you see a 50m penalty that's actually disadvantageous to the team that receives it. Giants were 100% out there and had a man out the back. Umpire should have paid advantage there, though I'm not even sure they're allowed to.

Rubbish call from the ump. Play advantage for Christ sake

Collingwood kick the first 2, flick over to the storm prelim & Penrith score in the first 3 minutes. Might check the cricket

Why the f can't they pay advantage ?

cos it was a 50m penalty - no advantage paid from that; play is effectively stopped til the mark is set 50m downfield

People talking about an easy pies win have gone a bit early imo. This start is no different to the start in the QF between us and them.

Great to see Callum Brown from Derry, Ireland, playing for the Giants. Go Giants! Up Derry!

Unbelievable.

As much as I dislike him Sidebottom is still a very good player.

I turned the sound off after 3 minutes. The booing had started.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
