On Footy Classified last night they said it was broken and some time ago and was being ‘managed’.

I think Edmund inferred on FC that he'd had it prior to the QF but not completely sure.

Hopefully he did, as he would have played one of his best career games while dealing with a broken toe.

I am not sure if anyone noticed but he came out really late onto the ground after half time. Did not run with the team, did not do the warm up.

My guess is that they were assessing it and injected it, and he went on to have a great second half.

Did I mention how passionately I would like to punch Cox in his teeny tiny nuts?!

Glad we're not heading in banged up as compared to last year.

In fairness to the club i think we've handled injury management a lot better then what we did last year.

Can't help when you pick up impact injuries in finals.

The worse part is even our depth is thin as they're also on the injury list.

Someone like a Luke Dunstan would have been handy replacement for Brayshaw and even Ben Brown for JVR.

Good thing we have Grundy.

People are laughing at this but I’m not joking!

How lucky are we to have an All Australian ruck just waiting in the wings.

We are, but nobody is Max Gawn.

We are cactus without him.

This… it might go down as a huge master stroke

I wouldn't mind kneeing him in that region..

I didn't realise we had Tim English to come in.

Grundy is a former AA ruckman, just like I'm a former 30 year old.

  • Demonland changed the title to Injury Cloud over Max & Clarry

Jeez, anything else?

Grundy being in our team is amazing, I love it, want him to stay I don't care what anyone says.  Glad he's there.

Those pies hey, that game was a shocker, I have some faith but honestly if we make it past this week it'll be amazing.  Brisbane will be licking their lips at all this.

Aim for his guts Jaded. They haven’t dropped as yet. 👀

Put max at full forward as a tall target in place of JVR and bring Grundy in to shoulder the ruck duties. How.much do you want a premiership medallion, Brodie?

The subtext there is that he hasn't been trying.!! FMD!

But what about the umpires or the AFL?

They had an opportunity after the first bounce to establish what is acceptable in a ruck contest. They squibbed it.

Cox is a dirty dog

I agree we managed players and training loads alot better.look how we run out games this year compared to last. We have had retched luck with injuries. Also our game style is so taxing , our players have more KMs and bumps and bruises than some other teams

Quick  who can I blame?

Endless really....

The Board, Greg Stafford, Maynard, Burgos replacement, the Home Base committee, whoever recruited the old crock, Grundy, Cox,....

if Cox did break Gawns toe

the pies comments are …

🤣🤣🤣

incidental contact

a footy act

Gawn should have avoided Cox’s foot

Gawn should never be playing after a prior foot injury 5 years ago

Cox will deliver red wine and roses to max at home

we hate Collingwood ( full stop )

Put him at full forward.

Is there a suggestion that the injury to Gawn isn’t new and he has been carrying it for a few weeks?

I heard that he’s been playing with the broken toe for weeks but it was aggravated when Cox trod on it during Thursday’s match.

Mason Cox needs to take a long walk off a short pier. He has the goggles all ready to go, he can swim back to the USA.

I give up

Just cannot take a trick

Oh well Grundy must play now

Mason has picked up all the "good" points about AFL fair ruck play/contesting, funnily enough, at, of all Clubs, Collingwood....go figure

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
