Doesnt matter whether anyone can launch a case in favour of Maynard or not.

Imagine if May or even Joel Smith crashed into Daicos knocking him unconcious in exactly the same action as Maynard. The TV and radio commentators would be going nuts and demanding it go straight to the tribunal. The media would be screaming for blood right up to Tuesday night .

Bang!  4- 6 weeks.  Season over. We wouldnt appeal.

AFL made no serious attempt to suspend Maynard and no appeal.

Afl is a rabble propped up by corporate media. Loath them.

Just saw something from Sam Edmund saying medically Gus is ok and plans to complete pre-season as normal.

Did anyone else hear this?

"I spoke to someone a week or two ago, I got a pretty good grasp on Angus Brayshaw. I'm told neurologically speaking, medically speaking, expert speaking, it's largely okay. He's been told everything he has wanted to hear, there is no additional cause for concern.

He's on a break, having a rest, playing golf and planning on coming back and resuming pre-season like all of his teammates when that time comes. There is no cause for concern at the moment with Angus Brayshaw."

Great news!

His leadership and off field stuff are as important as his great on-field play

I had a word with my mate this morning whose son plays with the Pies. The young bloke has to undergo extensive testing by the AFL (due to numerous concussions) before he can resume his career. My friend was talking with Mark Brayshaw. Apparently Gus also underwent the testing procedure and has been given the all clear.

I’m not sure about young Nate. Ten concussions and it took him a couple of days to recover from his last knock.

A large deal of assumptions in that which  reveal more about your opinions than anything else factual

Still it's probably  pretty close to the truth.

I think Maysie would've get off on appeal and assumed that Maynard would also.

The AFL is a cowardly disgrace for not completing the process

No way any Melb player gets off for the same high impact.

Pickett got 2 weeks for crashing into Bailey Smiths torso only in R1. Smith got straight back up and ran off and played a decent game for the doggies from memory.

Brayshaw was unconcious and stretchered off with medical staff after high head impact. Maynard cleared to play.

No matter how tough you are in Rules, anyone who does that sort of hit will be looking around for a few years afterwards, just in case there is a new bloke maybe with a name like  Cantona around.

I actually think it's also one of the reasons we're not letting Oliver go.

Really Other than he is our premier inside mid with 4 BandF ‘s and a million other accolades. You can’t be that serious we were really going to clear Clarry unless he Indicated he wanted out and he didn’t. That’s what has happened in reality.

Harmsey struggled to play as many games in 2023 as Clarry and was available for most rounds other than his self imposed 2/3 games he missed for personal reasons. Clarry missed 10 due to his injury and rehab misfortunes.

Hey, just noticed your fav players list. Maybe it's time LJ gets the boot and substitute Big Carl or Robbie.

All too late, but I was surprised that the biomechanical evidence wasn't challenged.

Sure, once he had left the ground, his trajectory was ballistic, and he couldn't alter it. But actually, the trajectory of his centre of mass was ballistic. He was perfectly able to reconfigure his body around that centre of mass - he chose to go into a bump configuration. He could have done otherwise.

NRL has eliminated the kicker being flattened like Gus was.

That "expert" evidence was inexpert. And barely challenged. Maynard's intent was to collect Brayshaw.

Ironic if Murphy is forced out of the game and The thug Maynard continues without any penalty other than sleepless nights. And rejection from the Brayshaw family and Angus etc.

Main thing is that Angus looks as though he is ok snd able to choose to start training on time if he wishes.  Naturally that means he has passed all tests and life is fine again from all angles and a clear road ahead,

Our AFL lawyer was hopeless and did a disgraceful job in representing Angus. If the biochemist guy says you have 0.45 seconds to change your position stands to reason you have even less if you are going to be attacked. That removes any responsibility for Angus "changing lanes " that was ridiculously stated. It was a natural movement after kicking the ball.

No challenging indicates AFL was half hearted and no cross examination of Pies legal advocate who made some outrageously incorrect statements that should have been challenged.

My understanding is the AFL ran the case and their lawyers had no right of reply and/or were very limited in how they could respond to the outrageous claims by the COll camp.

Whether this was by design or how its done I don't know.

And certainly having a well known Collingwood supporter as the Tribunal Chair was a ridiculous conflict. It all added up to the AFL wanted Maynard to get off

The thing is, if you look at Murphy's incident in the grand final, Maynard collided with him first.

Was not commenting on Maynard and Murphy. That was a real footy accident.

irony is that a Pie may be forced out of the game and Angus is free to choose to play on or not.

The fact that  as it was Maynard also with Murphy is now another ironic part I was not centred upon.

Possible Karma for Pies ( totally Unlucky for player Murphy who we hope makes a complete recovery ) from a footy accident when the other incident was not an accident IMO.
