The AFL won’t appeal it sounded like they hardly argued. just went through the motions

That’s because they DID hardly argue!!! I was labelled a tinfoil hat wearer but it’s the truth. The AFL had so many brilliant points to argue… but chose not to. They got what they want.

Why is Jvr suspended?

May as well have brought JVR to the tribunal seeing the tribunal will be throwing cases out like hard rubbish.

Nothing surer than Martin being free to play.

Never in doubt

Nothing to see.... move along.

Dropping the shoulder into the opponent's head after a smother attempt is now legal in footy opening the flood gates for others to do it

Watch it happen more often in junior ranks

Great legacy Gil

I want Goodwin to come out and say 'OK we're going to train the smother'.

Name

Will Brayshaw be cited for a dangerous block? I mean he kicked the ball then moved toward Maynard in a menacing manner.

Gil McLachlan, what a legacy you've delivered.

Match day experience is horrible.

The game is becoming a mess

The MRO is a farce.

Roy and HG have been calling you the murderer for years. They are spot on.

You've killed this game for many of us. But not your financial partners hey.

The AFL must appeal the decision if they originally went with a recommended 3+ game penalty

And what a weak effort prosecuting.  It was as if they couldn't be bothered even trying

Incompetent or else they were drawing out all their arguments against which to appeal

What would Occam say?

That’s the last straw for me. Off to wtch local footy next year. Would have got weeks in EDFL.

Absolutely gutted by this decision of the panel.

OK I'll say it WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND ! I don't think Iv'e ever been more angry in my life!!

When is Filths next training? I feel like going and venting, sledging for all Im worth

PARKKKKKKKKKK I'M ANGRY 🤮

The fact that the AFL themselves (Gleeson) instructed the tribunal to consider the fact that Maynard may miss finals/important games says all you need to know about the whole case.

Quite honestly nothing would make me happier than to watch GWS or Port absolutely physically destroy them.
Go on Toby, let’s test out that mangled arm of his.

Me too. I want them out in the next game. I want them beaten by 60 points. The corrupt AFL wants them in the GF. I want them out.

Just run through and shirtfront( better yet clothes-line) your opponents...   surely it'd be their fault.

I'm glad I moved to Byron Bay where no one gives a [censored] about AFL and I can forget about football for a while.

The crappiest part is we can’t do anything unless we stop attending the footy.

What we can do in the meantime is get our boys over the line on Friday night. They need us more than ever.

Yeah it was a football act, he came in and gave Blakey a good whack to the head. That’s footy, surely?

However frustrated you and I feel, wishing physical harm on a player is not called for.

Reverse the roles an imagine what you would say if other teams wished harm on one of our players.

Disgusted.

What a 4 hour circus for expected outcome.

Nice theatre AFL.

Had the chance but sadly didn’t convince anyone on head contact in AFL

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
