It is quite a moment when a team has lost 20 games in a row and it is a shock that they are in last place!

Dwayne Russell just called Jason Horne-Francis the Horn, as in...

"The Horn is away"

Please spare me, immediately after telling me what that even means.

Port have a good record against Brisbane, they wont care if its up there.

A Freo loss confirms our Pick with either be 4 or 5.

North now with pick one so it’s a bit irrelevant really.
I prefer a Freo win so we are still in the hunt for second spot.

BEVO SHOULD BE SACKED, NO FRIGGEN IDEA!

Simpson, apparently they were about or going to sack him.  Then he wins, almost spiteful to take away pick 1 with the win.   Dog's are unbelievable.

You know the AFL are going to do everything in its power to make sure it’s Collingwood v Melbourne for that first Qualifying final on the Friday Night.

It will suit us more than going to Brizzie.   We can still finish somewhere between 2 and 4, if port loses today.  If they won,  most likely 4th, Lions should beat saints at the Gabba, locking in 2nd.

Eagles supporters on Bigfooty are genuinely livid their team won a game of footy.

One of the worst seasons in living memory and they still won’t get pick 1.

But they will get the boy they want. Daniel Curtin is an Eagle.

Yes, but they would far preferred to be able to get an advantage out of trading Pick 1 out. Effectively they now have Pick 3 as Gold Coast are likely to take Jed Walter at 2. In fact it could be worse if the AFL contrive to give North an extra Round 1 pick (Pick 2) as compensation for Ben McKay leaving as a free agent.

Poor Adelaide. They’d be 9th right now with the best percentage and West Coast next week. Absolutely putrid result for them.

Theirs was significantly worse than ours.

At least in ours there was an ARC review.

Gutless as it was.

I hope Hawkins and Dangerfield retire ASAP and we dont see Geelong in the finals for 2 decades plus.

It wont happen. They have a 100million+ taxpayer funded stadium to themselves. They have a huge home ground advantage all other Vic clubs can only dream of. They can offer established players interstate a lifestyle that gives you both rural and city  social activities  but a cheaper cost of living . They always seem to have connections at AFL HQ. Theyre a media favourite so they dont get attacked relentlessly like Goodwin does.

Melbourne doesnt even have  permanent training venue. We get almost nothing. Miracle we won a flag. Hopefully more coming.

Stuff Geelong. I hope they become cellar dwellers.

Don't forget payments from Cotton On. If anyone denies it they are dreaming.

Imagine if they did and North took Curtin at 2.

That will not happen now, as AFL have got out of it, as Roos get best player in the country to add to what they already have. Also they need WC to have 2.

Amazing that 2 weeks in a row a faulty goal umpires call in the last minute changes the finals destiny of 2 teams.

The first one, ours,  the soft call was touched when it should been called a goal. The second last night not even reviewed! Intriguing to me that both umpires said  they clearly heard the touch ( hand / goal post) I mean with 50k plus screaming fans (at full voice) and hands and bodies whacking the posts and padding as the pack descends … how the hell can they say that with confidence? No clear deflection in either case so it’s all about the sounds.

These two decisions are examples of our god forsaken Umpiring Fraternity saying WE GOT THIS, but the sad facts are they haven't got a clue, and this mind you boys is as we go into Finals.

The darling Media, us and all of this the final fanfare for none other than Gil........ and " i leave the AFL in good hands, a job well done, thanks for the cheque".  Not forgetting of course Racism and Concussion, a couple of little sideliners.

I think it is still possible for Geelong to finish 9th

Imagine if Norf also got a priority pick and a NGA pick.

With picks #1 and #2, effectively the top 4 picks 🤣

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
