Done. Down there, was never going to be the massacre some thought it may be.

A very shabby start - hope we've got that out of our system !!

Then the big guns said enough is enough and opened fire - Max, Viney , Petracca and Brayshaw.

...... but what about Kozzie ?

Fair dinkum, a few moments of Kozzie magic cures much of the pain we MFC supporters have endured over the years.

I reckon it's happening this year !!!!!!

I hate playing this team and I hate playing that ground.
Glad it’s done.

A win is a win is a win. Dreadful start but re-set well and ran out easy winners in the end.

Viney, Kozzy, Chandler Trac all very good.

JJ and Harmes didn’t do their cause any favors.

Petty’s injury the big concern. Doesn’t look good and appears he’ll have another stint on the sidelines. We’ll just have to make do as best we can and hope he can recover quickly.

Go Dees

Could have been a Pies type disaster, we stood up after a poor start.  65 point turn around

14.6 for the season. 5 straight.

GO YOU DEMONS!

Just hope Petty is not out for too long, seriously unlucky footballer with injuries

Great fightback. Nothing is coming easy to anyone at the moment. North came out all guns blazing and we slowly but professionally worked our way back into the match

Hope Petty's injury isn't too serious.

What a professional team we have. Can put a poor quarter behind them, north on the other hand we fazed after their poor period. Difference between the teams is big.

We'll take the 4pts and move on.

Would have been nice to have got that percentage booster we needed, but the boys got the job done after a slow start.
Hope Petty is OK. He was looking good before going off.
A Freo win, despite the death riding, would top off the weekend.

Trac was great in the interview.  We were soft at the contest early

great mentality

Just saw on the broadcast Lever seemed shocked by whatever Petty said to him

Lions need to win by around 30 points?  depending on the amounts of scores...

Great way to look at it DD.

Petty 🏥

Smith down back 🤔

Clarity / form of the fringe mids

Percentage

Mental preparation 🤮

Speed and skill through the middle 👎

Take the 4 points but not a good day.

Seriously though, Petty could injure himself in a chess tournament

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #7 Jack Viney

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

The Demon premiership defender who has the reputation the master of intercept possessions as well as great leadership qualities managed only eight senior games this season as he battled injury and form, prompting speculation that he might be enticed to look elsewhere.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #12 Koltyn Tholstrup

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.

He is presently contracted to the club for an additional five years, with a substantial annual salary of approximately $1.7 million in the final seasons of his agreement. All at Melbourne are eagerly anticipating his resurgence to his previous peak performance levels.
