Terrible decision

Getting embarrassing. Every single time they go forward they get a shot. Every single time the ball is in the air they contest it. They win almost every ground ball.

This is comfortably an 8-9 goal loss atm. All that saves us is a North capitulation.

I can’t see us turning this around. We look completely disinterested

Salem having a pathetic game

I've never seen him hack kick it so much.

His disposal is usually so sweet

Centre bounce landed outside the circle, with no opportunity for Roo to contest it. Play on clearance to the Roos.

We've come into this game just thinking it's going to work out. You can tell by the loose disposals. We kicking/handballing like the target is just going to win the 1v1 against the north player. Show some respect or we're going to lose.

Umpires need to stick to throwing the ball up. They have had a shocker.

Chandler very poor.

Do these players not realise they are playing for their finals spots?

Good lord Harmes is a liability

Please no more Harmes after today.

There's been quite a few land outside today.

I don't understand why they persist with bounces. Just chuck it up

Some proper ball movement there for the first time in the game and we get an easy contested mark. The Roos are not a good side, so as long as we're able to bring our level up to something halfway reasonable we'll still win.

We have lifted but let's be honest we couldn't have got any worse

The way norf have just run around us has been embarrassing.

Trac getting involved.

Gus has been good.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

The Demon premiership defender who has the reputation the master of intercept possessions as well as great leadership qualities managed only eight senior games this season as he battled injury and form, prompting speculation that he might be enticed to look elsewhere.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #12 Koltyn Tholstrup

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.

He is presently contracted to the club for an additional five years, with a substantial annual salary of approximately $1.7 million in the final seasons of his agreement. All at Melbourne are eagerly anticipating his resurgence to his previous peak performance levels.
