Got to say, it was a pretty disappointing performance. Need to be a lot better than that. Will take the win and forget about it. Very strange game.

Our backline is a serious concern at the moment. Two big scores kicked against us in the past two weeks.

Bittersweet.

Thank goodness for Viney.

Good to see Kozzie and Chandler back in the goals.

Bad to see Lever and May play like that.

Can’t wait for the podcast to dissect that game.

Top 4 locked in for 3 years in a row.

not a sentence i thought i’d ever say

Joel Smith starting out of the Goal square next week thanks.

Too valuable to be wasted as a substitute.

Idiots will say we weren’t good. They’ll also say Pies are going to win the flag because twice they beat Adelaide by under a goal.

Go Dees!

Don’t love that we had to sweat that out, (and the 50s were sloppy) but the truth is the Crows were pretty good, we were inconsistent (sometimes good and definitely plucky), but they were desperate, with their season on the line and at the end of the game, we were on top. Good teams do that. We just need to make sure we play 4qtrs from here on in because there are no easy games.

Go Dees!!

Well those last five minutes were like a walking heart attack but thank god we won in the end.

The biggest positive of today's game was our small forwards. Pickett looked very threatening and it was great to see Chandler get his confidence back.

We’re effectively 3 games clear inside the top 4 with 5 games to come.

With Oliver and Fritsch (and maybe Grundy) to come back.

Adelaide suck on the road, so it was disappointing to see us give up a 5-goal lead twice and then a 4-goal lead twice in the last quarter, but their best is good so it’s not wholly surprising.

Big tests to come against Richmond, a resurgent Carlton, and a Sydney who could be playing for finals in Round 24.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
