Trac looks like he is kicking a biscuit tin

dont smash every kick Trac. 80% power. more finess

Coz his ball drop is and has ALWAYS been far too high. Surely the park Someone should have ironed this out years ago FFS

Does Harmes know which team he is playing for?

We just don’t look like a top 4 team at all. Groundhog Day at this point with our conversion.

Bedford doing what kozzie used to re pressure. I dunno what’s happened to this side. They’re tough at it i’ll give them that but playing with no sense of purpose and kicking with no confidence .

Kozzy is a ghost on the field. Always watching the players carrying the ball, never going after them. Wants the easy ball.

Agree, but questions need to be asked about our coaches and strategy also.

Whatever we are trying to implement forward of centre is not working on game day. Our defence and midfield work is top 4. Our forward line work is bottom 2. Very frustrating to watch watch. The skill level in the forward 50 is not afl standard. Very 2019 looking .

the only thing that half was missing was the junk time goal at the end.

This is all just more deja vu. Our forward play and goal kicking are bottom 4 not top 4.

Toby Greene is going to win this game for the Giants. I just know it.

14:1  Frees advantage

Look out for 2nd half eveneruppers

Given that, our dominance going forward, and just general control of play, we are entering Carlton territory of performance at the moment.

Let's not forget that over the past 12 months we're a slightly better than 50% win team.

How relevant are our "premiership metrics" after that half?

Cannot fault their effort. Can fault their brains and skills. This all feels very familiar.

Yep and behind the ball we are excellent. But it’s like our brain goes into full blown meltdown when we go forward.
I have never seen so many elite players do so many dumb things when a goal is in sight.
It has now become endemic and we can’t seem to fix it.
Of course losing our best forward doesn’t help. We are absolutely done if Fritta is out long term.

Honestly we are just painful to watch

This is the reason why Port winning last night was good for us. We are not top 2 material. if we make top 4 and things don’t change, it’s only because we’d have fallen in.

One thing about ANB that I have noticed, he has a habit of not competing but holding back and than tackling the player who has won the ball.

I see the opposite, often in first for a crumb, but constantly tackled immediately

With this level, I'd pace myself.

Rubbish, had we kicked better than 9 year olds we’d be 7 goals in front

If I had wheels, I'd be a bike.

I know the ball is wet, but has Tracc hit a single target today? And Harmesey. Fair dinkum. In the clear on the wing late in Q2, signals to the intended target and then kicks it out of bounds. We don't deserve to be in the eight.

True. Pauline is adamant it’s his ankle. I told her the Club are reporting it’s his foot. She said it depends on who you talk to from the Club. She spoke to Fritta himself.

If you can get us a half time update that would be great.
I gave up on this game and am in full blown Fritta is dead meltdown mode.

But we just care about looks not the data 😂

What a joke of a footy team up forward.

  • Today 2g 9b
  • v  Cats 8g 15b
  • v Pies 8g 18b
  • v Blues 8g 13b

3 1/2 games and we have kicked 26g 55b

For anyone there go check out the Burrito truck if he's running today. Brother's brother in law's business 🙂

My Dland membership is meant to filter out ads. How did this get through Andy?

Just there is a lot of wrist slashing here as usual. Completely dominated the half, but failed to execute on the scoreboard. That’s the end of the story. Listening to BT and Jones, who doesn’t want to appear biased, barracking for GWS is worse than the goal kicking

We will get run over in the second half, spent a lot of energy kicking points

This game will be lost at selection. Grundy/ Gawn and BBB in f50 together is so horribly wrong. That trade has ruined our teams cohesion.

Just get it and kick it long out of the back. I don't care if it goes out on the full on the back flank, better than loose in the goalsquare.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
