We will more than likely play Collingwood. I'm ok with that as I reckon precision kick football doesn't always stay that way in finals.........which is great given we're sheeeet kicks

What is exactly a "bit"? One thing is to maybe take a couple of steps , but this guy took 2 meters to the left off the mark.

He clearly took advantage of that extra momentum with his body, probably would have been a short kick without it.

That was my thought too. It was easily 1m too far right. Shouldn’t have counted. They need to tighten the whole line and mark nonsense. The umps are way too late in calling the goal kicking player running off the line. 

Hmm, to climb back up to second over Port we would need to first beat GWS on sunday, obviously, and then it would be a case of picking up 3 wins in the remaining 8 games.

It is plausible to think that Port could have a few stumbles late - Freo in Perth, Cats in Geelong, the return match against the Crows, and of course their remaining game against the Magpies. Stranger things have happened than a team on a long winning streak then becoming a very up and down for several rounds. As we might recall...

Still, even if Port only manage 5-3 for the remaining eight rounds, we would need to clean sweep from here to overtake them.

Of course, it is also possible that Collingwood will finally run out of momentum. They've only played one game against a top-8 side in the last seven rounds, and they lost that one. They'll be playing against the Dogs, Dockers, Port, Lions, Cats and Bombers to round out the season, with only the Blues and Hawks as low-rated opponents.

I mean, that would obviously be the sweetest finish to the home and away rounds - Collingwood lose to the Bombers in the final round and then both ourselves and Port go ahead of them. Which would also mean a satisfyingly bitter Melbourne V Collingwood qualifying final just for a laugh.

Anyway, let's clean sweep the rest of the season and figure it out from there. 😉

I find Port fascinating this year. I have a strong suspicion Ken has got them up for the first part of the season for his contract year. It’s also interesting the club hasn’t signed him yet, as they have learnt the hard way you can’t win the flag in July. They finished second in 2021, which gets forgotten a lot.

Let’s see what’s September brings.

The odds of us finishing top 2 are small enough to be disregarded. Neither Collingwood nor Port will lose enough games for us to pass them, and we won't run the table anyway.

This is all about finishing 3rd or 4th and we have work to do to make that happen.

Our season rests on us doing better from here than all bar one of Brisbane, the Dogs, Essendon, St Kilda, Adelaide and Geelong.

After tomorrow, our next three are then St Kilda, Brisbane and Adelaide. It is, IMO, the biggest month of our season so far (including tomorrow). Finishing with Richmond, North, Carlton, Hawthorn and Sydney doesn't pose the same challenge or level of importance as these four games.

4-0 in the next month probably seals top 4, given the damage we get to do to our direct rivals.

We’d have to show something seriously good tomorrow for us to have any chance at 4-0 in the next month. You don’t just click fingers and play great football. Form is largely confidence and that takes time to build.

That's what will undo them in the end this whole contract saga as soon as he signs their will be let down.

He's doing far, far more than that. He is quite literally changing games the instant he comes on. He was on the bench first 10 mins against adelaide....comes on and the game never looked the same.

Collingwoods entire winning streak started once he'd taken 5 games to find his feet. 

Yes he's relatively uncontested - but that matters less and less the way the game is going. 

I love Clarry and trac and think the world of Bont, but pound for pound, no one is impacting games more than Daicos this season. He's winning the brownlow.

No longer a full on contested game style  which is our Schtik so 2021! The Dees are now poorly equipped to take these teams on
