Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yes 'Webber' has said that before...take it from the physio.

Strains are a kind way of saying you've torn your hammy...

Could be tendon related/strain.

They will flair after a heavy work load.

I understand they take longer to heal, 4 to 6 weeks.

I think we have to wait till Oliver starts sprinting, with a work load of greater than 30 minutes.

Didn't appeared hampered when training.

I also watched him on Saturday afternoon. He was covering a fair bit of distance, moving over at least 3/4 of the paddock, but never sprinting.

1000% this.

This is a generational player. I would rather lose KB 10 times over, than lose Clarry for the season or have him struggle with recurring hamstrings for the rest of his career.

Losing KB is inconsequential, losing Clarry to long term injury is not.

Still not used to the Kings Birthday. Thought you were nonsensically talking about losing Kevin Bartlett for a minute, and then scrambled to think which player on our list is KB if not.

I spoke with an insider Saturday at lunch. Clarrie has a strain not a tear. We compared notes too in our day and it has all changed. Rehab starts with immediate exercise gradually increasing the load till certain goals are achieved, remember he didn't tear the muscle. The downside is it is less predictable when he will have rehabbed to the point where they let him play.

Thanks, Kev for the update. Did Schache train with the defenders? I suspect Hibbo due for a rest and an extra tall down back to mimic Petty. With De Koening playing as third tall Tomlinson or Schache will be needed to support May and Lever (the latter who cannot hold onto his marks atm)

Tomlinson doesn't have a great record against taller opponents so I reckon we might have to roll the dice and ask Schache to do a job - has played ok in D50 before with the dogs I think🤔

Oliver with the main group, as is Grundy.

Those doing there own warm ups include, TmacSpargo, Hibbo, Friitta, BBB, and J.Smith. All in runners except BBB.

Rehab, is K.Turner.

Spargo, BBB, J.Smith, and Tmac, join the main group. Now, Hibbo has joined.

Schache, with the main group.

Petty, is doing his own program.

They have put a barbecue on for staff, the kids and I assume anyone else.

Have they put the BBQ on to say sorry we have lost 2 in a row? 😋

I wouldn't want to be the person responsible for him being the next Luke Shuey...

You get it wrong and it can dog you the rest of your career.

If we're smart we will be really conservative on this one.

Oliver is more important than one game.

Too bleeding right!

My understanding is that tears and strains are the same. But Mild Strains (Grade 1) are at least 3 weeks recovery.

Would be a disaster by the medical team to allow Clarry to play before Kings Bday regardless of the Brownlow.

Monday June 12th will be the 24th day since his hammy strain, it will be healed nicely if his rehab goes to plan.

It was the Demon Army, thanking them for getting so close to winning, as well as thanking all the hard working staff for the behind the scenes actions. More importantly it was the acknowledgement of, and coming together with, our first nations peoples.

I get the feeling they aren't taking it as serious as some spectators.

They were jovial today, and I imagine they are keeping their spirits up, and working on the deficiencies.

Nah @old dee. Miracles happen heaps. Carlscum haven't won a premiership in almost 30 years. Essenscum haven't won a final in 645,984 days and the Deez were paid a free kick in their forward half in round 2, 2019.

Ha ha that’s about 1,700 years if only and the F50 free kick would be close to the mark. Lol.!!!

“The other one was all handballs. They had to go quick because of the numerous balls in play. On one end of the formation, they were on their knees, flicking the ball up, after it hit the ground ahead of them”.

Hasn’t this drill been done a thousand times over.  It’s not our issue.  I’d have them running and kicking and running. And then running and kicking and hitting targets.  With players leading up and demanding the footy. And have another group of players putting under pressure.  A chase from behind with 5 metre split “head start “.  And lots of discussion if targets aren’t hit.  That’s the need.  Oh and shown them what the “corridor “ is.

This session really wasn’t anything to go by. It went for less than 30 minutes and was more for show. The focus this morning was the acknowledgment and celebration of Reconciliation Week. Melksy was one of the last players to head back inside. He stopped for a sausage In bread which he quickly ate while standing at our tent. He said, “I’ve gotta go! We’ve got training now.” I said, “But you’ve just had training.” He said, “Real training.” Idk if he meant indoor training or that they were coming back out once everyone had left. However, we were there for another 20 mins or so finishing packing up and there was no sign of them coming back out.

Whereas it’s usually the DA putting on the BBQ, the Club actually organised this morning’s event, Kev. They provided the food and we provided the BBQs and utensils etc. and we manned the BBQ. It wasn’t a fundraiser like our usual BBQs are.

And yes, there was definitely an air of joviality and fun. The players and coaches were genuinely enjoying themselves, as were the many MFC staff members, all deservedly so. Just a great vibe in general. Such a tonic after reading some of the ridiculous end of the world comments on here… and I didn’t even go anywhere near the postgame thread!!!

Of course I did! Would be remiss of me not to. They said (in unison) “Please tell Roost It Far we sincerely apologise unreservedly, and we promise to play out of our collective skins to win every single match from here on in purely to ensure his enjoyment of his team, for it is his enjoyment of his team that should be and will be at the forefront of our collective minds.”

Happy with that?

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
