Melbourne long range weather forecast

June 12th top 14 degrees and wet. Not what we want to see.

Long range weather forecasts are about as reliable as Michael Bloody Christian!!

It largely depends on whether people who already have reserved seats turn up. My reserved seats sections is never anywhere near full and I don't believe there are any spare seats available for sale.

I will put my hand up as potentially one of those members who has a reserved seat near you and doesn’t use it. I am also a MCC/ MFC member and prefer sitting there, although I may sit in my reserved seat on Kings Birthday to try and avoid Collingwood supporters as much as possible and hopefully give another Melbourne supporter a chance to get in.

That's not the actual situation. Access to any part or section is "subject to availability" no matter if you have Members tickets.  Yes there are some small loopholes maybe but if you don't act with some haste fully well knowing that Anzac Eve or Kings Birthday are likely challenges to the norm.

Gawndy the Great in his heartfelt post about MFC members possibly missing out is nice empathy but some members are very complacent and assume it is the same as a 25,000 entry.
I love the fact that Melb are now getting benefits that they only dreamed of a decade ago but it has been a well earned ride. The bottom line is 85,000/90,000 plus many of who have doubled dipped with our Membership and reserved seats contributing. Pies fans also contribute and non members with the GA pay at the gate and some have reserved seats and a minimum not.
But the bottom line is that we will pocket $1.5/2million and that is what we have earned the right to because of our status over the last 3 of 6 seasons plus 2018 also included.
Gawndy rabbited on about Cwood getting all the silver service from the AFL and this galling and unfair at times. But don't get down about our lot in life no one wants to pay attention to a jealous loser who can't celebrate the good in their Club.

I don't want to ever return to the depths of despair from 2007-2014 where again was as precious as a flag.  And life is changing for us snd it's all good just go with the flow  or you will be left behind to sit in a corner and sulk.

Here's hoping we go to KB Monday (after 2 more wins and are 9-3) and provide the upset of the year.

We are not that far off but need to lift as the whips  start cracking as we turn for home and September as our main course for the year. Up and at em Go Dees.

good post. I am one of the complacent ones. I really haven't been in this position much, and its great! 10 years ago I had a bay to myself on ground level and it sucked

Agree with your sentiments, why complain about what the Pies have? Think about a year ago and now consider we have Anzac eve, BF monday, many night games and lots of TV exposure.  If you are correct and we could make 2M from this game it is bloody fantastic!

Now over the Gawn, Vines and the boys to make us proud

Awesome that it's sold out. Will be a special event. So grateful to be a big team now that plays in these games.

Here here Kozzie. Never want to go back to 2007/14. Never again. Let's get those 1 or 2 more flags.

Yes results are expected as well Letsstart Saturday and flick out the Freo flames. Won't be easy it's  a 50/50 game I suspect. ScoMo if our B graders and role players will need to contribute.

If anyone has missed out I am happy to help out, have access to 10 more guest passes in the MCC and about 30 in the AFL reserve (still standing room available), just let me know before everything is sold out

What BS, back in the Neeld era you could rock up on the day and be guaranteed entry.

And you’d also be guaranteed a soul crushing loss and probable depression.
What a time to be alive.

Just bought a couple MCC guest passes for @DubDee, the PAX number on the tickets are 83,000 which means 83,000 tickets have been sold (including our reserved seat members) with MCC walk ups (around 8k) to be added on the day. 90k a real possibility

Shout out to my man FTB!  lovely chap who went out of his way to make sure me and my mate can attend. And attend in style in the MCC, I'll have to fish a collared shirt out of the wardrobe!  lol

That's it, embrace the big crowds. Get there early so there's no issues getting your seats etc. I've got mates who complain that it was easier to just rock up in the old days 5 minutes before and get your seat. Well with success comes more responsibility for us fans too.

When we're cellar dwellers again then they can go back to cramming in as many beers as they can before bounce.

Hopefully it has a snowball effect too - in future more people will reserve seats earlier so they don't miss out meaning it will become a fully ticketed event in perpetuity. That's the hope anyway (for this and Anzac Eve).

The problem with that is people could still miss out. Sell outs are good financially but people can still miss out.

i see what you did there...

It was mentioned earlier here or on the ticketing thread, but I just wanted to stress the point that tickets are still available for GA members. On Ticketek select 'Club Members & Public Reserve', enter your membership barcode/s, hit unlock tickets then a pop-up appears and select 'Melbourne Supporter Allocation'.  Still a handful of seats available in the bays highlighted in the image below. Mostly single seats, but some pairs of seats still available together. It's only a sellout for the general public.

Some like me have MFC Memberships but sit in the MCC area. There's quite a lot like that who simply want to support the club financially and directly.

To think I've been pondering if I should travel down to this game.

Well that's that decision made for me.

Rats.

They put these on sale last night at 10pm, was nonsense that they don’t let members know

Yeah for sure. All the publicity has been about how the match is a sellout so many won't even look, or worse some GA members might have missed the communication and turn up on game day thinking they'll be able to enter the ground. Where did these seats come from anyway? Reserved seat members?

I reckon they should remove some seats on lvl 1 and make large standing areas at the back right around the ground. This would increase the capacity significantly.

Ye they are the unsold reserved seats. Collingwood are doing the same thing in the ponsford.

can imagine there’s going to be more than one person that rocks up on the day and tries to scan in with an error message

I think it does mean you cannot go.

Received an email from the club, indicating that I needed to get a seat.

I wonder what I'll have to do to get a ticket?   nothing is off the table

As a redleg member without a reserved seat { my choice } I wouldn't expect to miss out on a seat.

People public tickets are sold.

If you have a MFC GA membership you need to purchase a seat, which you still can. there will be no walk ups on the day. No reserved seat no entry.

I would say Christian is very predictable:

Christian: what club do you play with?

Player: Melbourne Football Club Mr. Christian.

Christian: two weeks then!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
