For anyone visiting Adelaide for the weekend I can recommend Morphettville races tomorrow. Race 1 is midday. you can usually sneak in for free.

the Schnitzels are as big and hard as a frisbee. i enjoyed it so much, it came up constantly for the rest of the day

It's been so bloody cold  here  DD the shiraz was freezing.

The world can be cruel sometimes Uncle

I'm cracking an Angostura 7 year rum tonight which survived a duty free stampede at Port Vila.  Some weren't so lucky and saw their stash get smashed on the way out!  The lengths ppl will go to for cheap booze.  Of course i just happened to be passing by and errr... well.

Regardless i will raise my first glass to the restoration of all things good at the Manor, a speedy recovery to my old mum (who's recovering from a bout of the dreaded lurgy at the old Freemasons) and a win for our Mighty Demons.

north, meth coke were easy kills, and they snuck over the line vs the other three

footscray win the best of that lot and from memory it was their key forwards - two of whom are missing this evening - that were particularly damaging

I hear you.

But from that batch, we have both beaten North and WC. So that evens out.

But they have beaten the Bombers (who smashed us) and the Saints who were travelling very well at that point (a narrow loss to the Pies and a win over the blues in the preceding two games). A sneaky win or not, a win is a win, and Port won all of those games.

As I said, I believe we win, and we should win, but I hope we don't fly in on a false sense of confidence much like last year, which cost us dearly. If we treat Port with respect tonight, keep the pressure up and everyone is accountable, we win well and keep the season humming along :-)

Have a look at time in centre bounces and time on ground for Trac, Clarry and Viney this year versus last year. All are under 80% from memory this year.
And Trac is playing way more time forward than ever before.
Against the Hawks after half time I saw a centre bounce of JJ, Gus and Kosi. Name one time that happened last year. Not even when we were 10-0.

Correct.  It also resulted in a neutral outcome even though the Hawks won the tap.  Not bad!

The other somewhat out-of-the-norm set ups (vs 2022) included...

Tracc, Sparrow & Gus

Viney, Sparrow & Gus

Clarry, Kozzy & Sparrow x 3

Viney, Gus & Jordon

I have the outcomes on these but won't bore you with the details

That wet over there hey?

That first sip of wine after a hard week at work was very tasty.

Really looking forward to this game.

In a crossover from the puppy thread, I'm led to believe that the pooch on the left is named "Yartapuulti".

No longer a regular beer drinker myself but Coopers Sparkling Ale and Original Pale Ale are surely two of the better beers available on the mainland. Or were?

In a chilled glass of course...

Classic. Well done

You'd think, given their lack of forward line, that they should struggle to kick a score. But given we aren't great defending ground balls inside 50, Dixon and Marshall out may not be an issue for them

Schmiddy a chance for the Sub?

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
