If this isn’t the most pathetic midfield game you’ve seen us play in 3 years I want to know what is

Look, I think it’s expected. We need a midfield coach.

This is turning into another Brisbane/Essendon game. The scapegoating of Tmac is a joke

This game is just about over. Haven’t kicked a goal in over a quarter and don’t look like it either.

We need a proper forward line coach, and the midfield needs a rocket as does Yze.

Lambs to the slaughter at the moment

Game getting out of control

It’s the real lack of urgency for me. We are playing like a team resigned to lose.

Why do all our hack kicks out of defence always go to an opposition player. Surely it should be 50/ 50.

Marks 33 to 10 sheesh.

You don't win with those stats.

not winning clearances will come back to bite you against good teams.

keep Lever and May honest and we look disorganised. it looks like the Suns game to me

Salem has been a positive. Not much else at the moment unfortunately

Port's tactics working well. Over to you Goody.

If you’re looking for a coach that changes up tactics depending on the opposition, or adjusts with astute moves on game day im afraid Goody isn’t your man.

He will persist with the exact same game plan week after week and make zero adjustments tonight. Guaranteed.

Can’t even get the ball out of the back half. Embarrassing.

We've got Daniher era vibes about us atm, especially 2004, 2005. Beat up on [censored] teams. Get absolutely owned by decent teams.

Skills are disappointing under pressure. It's been an issue for weeks but now we are up against better opposition it's hurting us.

Scoreboard flatters is. This game should already be over. Another likely loss against a top 8 team. We’re looking like flat track bullies in 2023 unfortunately.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
