only a few uncertainties this round you'd think, but there's always a chance for upsets

gc17's home record worries me, but their 'outs' are significant - weller is a far, far better player than he gets credit for being

I'm hopelessly undecided about tonight's game between Carlton and Brisbane Lions.  Thinking of backing in the Lions but then Zorko (🤮) is out so maybe they'll fold even though it's not at their bogey ground of the G

Dont know Lions record at Marvel but likely not all that much better than the G. Unfortunately Carlton should win with  the bogan Zorky  and Rich not playing. Zorko ,typically, will probably return when we play them next.

Crows a big chance if they can kick straight. Big if though. Their goal kicking has been dreadful this year so far.

They beat the Blues there in 2021. Their record at Marvel is very similar to ours about 30 wins from 70 games but like us a lot of those loses came at a time they could not beat anyone anywhere.

No excuses for Caaaaaarlton tonight.

Interesting weekend from a ladder movement perspective. Several teams playing another close to them on the ladder.

Carlton beating Brisbane is probably in our interest if you subscribe to the theory that Brisbane will win most of their home games.

Swans beating Pies makes it just that little easier for us to secure a top two spot by season's end.

GWS win over Dogs keeps the Dogs around the bottom of the top 8.

Essendon v Port... probably a Bombers win is best for us

Freo to lose of course

Geelong v Adelaide... a draw would be nice

Saints to win and continue with a ?

Main interest tonight is for Cripps and Neale to both miss Brownlow votes. Ideally they can tag eachother out of the game?

GWS simply must tag Bontempelli and would be helpful if Geelong put a stopper on Jordan Dawson, too. These clear standout individual players who will get the major share of their teams' votes are the rivals that worry me most.

I think I've honestly taken on Fremantle's draft picks and the historic Oliver-Petracca tie for the Brownlow as the main points of interest for all non-Demon games.

Fun Fact: While thinking about this I poked around at a few websites which are running Brownlow Medal predictors (EPSN, AFLratings) and the only one which displayed the betting odds was, of course, AFL.com.au

Will be happy to see Carlton and Essendon get beaten. The sooner they and their manky fan bases know they are out of finals contention the better for everyone else.

Well spoken, Rab D. Both losing is always a wonderful addition to any weekend.

Zorko and Rich out what a load of baloney. They were going out of their way to make sure that the cameras saw the ice. They were being rested or my hair is growing at twice the rate it was forty years ago..

huge game tonight. i have no idea who will win.

lions don’t travel great plus Curnow has me punting for the blues.

Aaron Hall had the most possessions for North and second most fantasy points of anyone in the game last week (behind only Tracc)… and got dropped.

Clarko clearly ‘going to the draft’.

That’s terrible, especially if it’s true she was covered in sheets.

Nothing is being mentioned on the Fox pregame.

It’s been confirmed. A 48yo woman fell 10 metres from Level two to Level one.

That's terrible, personally I would not want to watch a football game if I saw that.

Amended. Thanks.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
