If we dig up some of @KC from Casey VFL Game day reports from 2016, I'm pretty confident you'll find him suggest a few times that he was someone Melbourne should look at.

Yeah, the crowds at the two double-header’s are going to be very interesting.  Looking forward to hear from those at the ground what it’s like because I don’t think the broadcasters will be very honest with the crowd size, especially during the first half of our game.

I just hope the narrative isn't twisted to make it look like we can't draw a crowd. Then again the AFL don't want any whiff of the Gather Round not being a resounding success so the broadcasters will definitely not be mentioning it. That being said it will be plain as day that there are a lot of empty seats in the first 1/2 to 3/4 of our match.

Absolutely. And big Oscar Mac who ended up the Lions...

What a stupid time slot

That's why it's Freo & Gold Coast. Not too much interest TV wise.

Absolutely. Last two games we've only seen glimpses but the are impressive. Can kick a ball 50+ metres off one step, jump on an opponents shoulders and mark. Great agility. Will only get quicker and stronger.

You and vipercrunch would be content to wait another five years for a top 5 draft pick to prove his worth? But what about last night? Did Andrew justify his place in the side? IMO, his seven possession performance indicated he’s simply not yet ready for football at this level. He looked lost to me. He was playing at half back where he was supposed to be either guarding space or an opponent but too often it was neither. The Dockers often had the out number when the ball was kicked into the pack at the front of their goal and Mac was nowhere to be seen.

My concern for the kid is that being at Gold Coast is neither the right time or place for his development. If he was at a decent club, he would still be running around in the VFL to ensure that when the time comes, he would be ready to play the game.

Here’s the 2021 NAB AFL National Draft Top 20

1. Jason Horne-Francis (North Melbourne)
2. Sam Darcy (Western Bulldogs)
3. Finn Callaghan (Greater Western Sydney)
4. Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
5. Mac Andrew (Gold Coast)
6. Josh Rachele (Adelaide)
7. Josh Ward (Hawthorn)
8. Jye Amiss (Fremantle)
9. Josh Gibcus (Richmond)
10. Neil Erasmus (Fremantle)
11. Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (St Kilda)
12. Josh Sinn (Port Adelaide)
13. Ben Hobbs (Essendon)
14. Campbell Chesser (West Coast)
15. Leek Aleer (Greater Western Sydney)
16. Darcy Wilmot (Brisbane Lions)
17. Tom Brown (Richmond)
18. Angus Sheldrick (Sydney Swans)
19. Jacob van Rooyen (Melbourne)
20. Kai Lohmann (Brisbane Lions)

Picked straight after Daicos and just before Rachele. Great drafting if he comes good.

No first round pick for them this year either. Wonder if the 3 Giants supporters have their own death riding thread, or even a fan forum for that matter.

I think they just text each other

He could have been anybody’s actually.

He played with the Casey Scorpions and showed at the time, that he was a goal kicker.

IIRC our own recruiting people made the decision not to treat him as a priority for recruiting.

Freo fans believe they've turned the corner.

Theyre 2-2  & 8th after beating a VFL standard Eagles and dumpster fire Suns. Delusional people.

They have Dogs, Lions, Swans, Cats in their next five weeks

Only 'easy' game is against Hawks

Think I'd tip against them in 4 out of 5 of those

Well the 4 of us will leave after the Melb game & I assume others will especially if wet so there’ll def be empty seats at both games. Looks like our game will hopefully start in dryish weather

Radar at Adelaide is looking very promising.

That sums up where he's at.

We gave JVR a full season in the VFL to develop. Andrew is still slight of frame, so would've spent the better part of 2 years at Casey. He shows signs, but at a s*** club with poor development he could waste his career

He simply is not top 10 material IMO. I’m thinking the pre draft hype fooled the GC Suns recruitment team big time.

I think they were trying to find the next Unicorn.

Well said, he's raw and could be something decent but this isn't a hood environment to nurture that talent.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. How we lost to Brisbane in round 2 remains a serious mystery.

The GABBA is a flat track. And you know what they say about those who play on flat tracks all the time...

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
