Maybe a late change with Hibbo out and JJ back in? Hibbo was listed as a doubtful starter during the week. Tommo was also stiff to be dropped after Round One and ended up as a late in for May.

They just move the chess pieces around. Players can play in multiple positions. 

so good we are in a position we’re genuinely good players have to be dropped. 

it’s a case of last in first out. harsh on Jordon but that’s the reality. he played well last week and he’ll be back in soon.

We’ve just beaten a team we’ve struggled to beat in the last decade by 50 points. Of course JJ is stiff, but that’s where we’re at as a club. Embrace it.

We obviously are going to continue with the Petty forward trial. That means TMac HAD to come in, to add an extra tall down back or, if Petty struggles, an extra one forward. Kossie has to come in. Jordon is stiff but the fact is, we have minimal injuries ATM (touch wood) and that means good players will miss out eg Harmes,  and even Salem will have to earn his way back in. What a great situation!! But as we get the inevitable injuries and/or rest players mid-season, people like Jordon will get their chance.

 

PS Bbb will likely be “injured” for a while, if we kick 20 goals again.

Hard decision over the cheese board this week.

Pickett had to come in and we needed another tall into the side in place of Brown. The choice of the tall was between Tmac and Tomlinson a toss up. I would have gone with Tomlinson and given Tmac another run with Casey.

The out for Pickett meant that we were always going to drop one of Jordon or Sparrow. Hard selection for the one dropped. 

Jordon to be sub?

Strong team none the less.

Tough call on JJ but them's the breaks when getting close to a full list with many in good form.

He will work his way back in no doubt but might have to be patient.

Where's Harmes at?  Top bloke and been so loyal / consistent with his week in / week out application / attendance throughout his career.  Very unlike him to miss for weeks on end (bar injury).

You are spot on.
I had a quick look into the attendance numbers and for us against West Coast and over the last 20 years in Melbourne, Well it has been pretty poor.
An average of 20K at the MCG where in WA (optus/subiaco) when we play WC they average at least 40k.
It's double the revenue in ticket sales for the AFL for us to go over there if we only play them once during in the season.

Now we haven't had a chance to see what the numbers would be for a crowd at the MCG since 2014 as we sold our home game in 2019 to NT.

I would imagine if this game was in Melbourne this year we'd crack 40k

I have the view that Petty’s last game in defence was pretty ordinary and he was a bit lucky not to have been dropped and Tomlinson retained when May came back.

Tmac is a backward step, going to the well again, Jesus are have so many injuries that kids from the under 10's will be filling in, use tommo as a spare ruck if you have to.

I expect that TMac has come in for BBB and will therefore play forward with Petty and we'll go with the same set-up back as last week - Lever and May. Otherwise Tomlinson would come in ahead of TMac if we wanted a tall back.

If things go pear shaped due to in game injury or some WC tall forwards getting off the leash then Petty or TMac can go back.

Kossie has come into the midfield mix in the 22 for JJ, clearly the FD continue to rate Sparrow ahead of JJ as they have consistently for more than 18 months.

Ok I'm sorry it's not tragic, just seemed like a raw deal considering he played his heart out last Sun. Will use better words next time.
