I hope that he is started off the bench and goes straight into the ruck. It’s important that he is involved early on in the match, and his career.

Fantastic news!

Congratulations to Jacob van Rooyen in finally having his debut game!

Hopefully the BIG ROOSTER goes in hard at the ball and shows plenty of aggression with his tackling, smothering and shepherding.

Jacob definitely reminds me of the two Davids in Neitz and Schwarz.

Good luck Jacob! Smash those Swans!!!

GO DEMONS!!!! 🔴🔵👹

In the Casey game last week, the Bulldogs 206 cm 106 kg ruckman, Jordan Sweet, No. 41 was roughing up one of the Casey players as he was making his way to interchange...really bullying/intimidating...fair enough...Casey player changed with JVR, who went straight to the said 41 and gave it right back, with plenty of interest. 41 seemed surprised and definitely did not like it. Me, I loved it. Good luck JVR. Well deserved.

There is hope. Mongrel don't come easy, but we need it in bucketloads.

Lot of people waxing lyrical about this guy playing in the magoos, let's see how he goes in the big league

I'm looking forward to seeing this kid in the seniors, and I trust the coaches have prepared him very well for long term success.  His attack on the ball and player is great, very reminiscent of David Schwarz, my favourite player growing up.

Not like you DS to have such poor grammar.

That is a ruined van, not a van ruin.

So they should, he is the future for mfc and he'll be better for the run whatever happens. The big leagues for a forward can sometimes be "better". Quicker ball movement, bigger grounds, better structures.  Personally, I believe the key metric of any forward is taking marks. Dont care if they are contested or uncontested for now. If he averages 4 to 5 marks per game this season, we have something.

Well yes, let's.

Just where do you think every single player on our list got their start? He’s obviously ticked all of the boxes required to get the promotion.

Best I can do at short notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
