I was going to start a whole new topic but I'll just post it here.

From most important needs we need to address? What are our key needs to get us over the line for a Premiership/s in the next 2-3 years?

1. Key Power Forward (clunking mark forward) (Trading)

2. Young gun skillful midfielder (Draft) Top pick

3. 2nd Ruck/Forward who can play forward (Trading)

4. Fast Small crumbing forward goalsneak (Draft) 2nd rounder

Virtually every club is after those 4 players.  Alot of teams could win a flag if they signed all  of the above.

Norff get a decent shot at recruiting some but we are down the queue.

Lucky if we snag one but fantastic if we fluke a second. MFC is a flag window club so players will seriously consider us.

I’m worried about Petty and the Crows

The only way we would be consider trading Petty would be if we believe his foot is cooked.

Spill....

Don't leave us hanging Redman.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to read bad news for us, but rather, not much news for us.

Hope I haven't caused any stress.

Petty's family home is in Wudinna, which is 570km from Adelaide and a 6 hour drive.  He was a boarder at a school in Adelaide, but family ties are nowhere near Adelaide.

He's contracted until 2025 and I have zero concerns about him leaving.

Both GF teams have their pros and cons. No team is ever perfect.
Dees not far away.

If we execute in the big games, we win. It’s that simple. We might need to get 1-2 top up players but it’s not a huge step.

Of course we aren’t far away.

But we play cagey boring footy and that is not what wins flags. Also, wrong thread for this.

Funny that as we recently won one

Not to pile on you but what was the difference between regular season MFC in 2021 and last few rounds/finals MFC in 2021?

Positive and confident ball movement would be right up there. It’s what Binman and a few others seem to think is a spigot we can turn on whenever we want.

Its learned and trained and we have work to do.

This has been debunked by Sam Edmund as pure guess work from a random nuffy supporter who texted in to SEN. SEN then did some follow up work.

Edmund on to say that he doesn't think there is anything in the works and that Melbourne are now acknowledging that games need to be put into the younger players instead of going out and buying big.

Sorry to disappoint.

If that is true then we are about to squander the best midfield, ruck and defensive talent and structure we've had in living memory when there is 1-2 years left in the window tops.

I would have a crack at Hollands. Looks the goods and with Harmes, Jordon and Dunstan gone he should get a game.

These are all good points, which is why I am in favour of us going for a forward/ruck like Chol or Casboult, who could play as second ruck or fill in if Gawn gets injured.

Casboult looks cooked to me

I think we should make our best 22 the best it could possibly be

BACKLINE: McVee keeps his spot, May keeps his spot, Lever keeps his spot. Rivers keeps his spot, we have no CHB Tomlinson is useless and Turner has had limited opportunities that's a spot we should look to cover trade week or draft night. Salem needs to improve to keep his spot that's another position we should try to cover trade week or draft night. Bowey keeps his spot.Noble should be looked at IMO. Howes is depth ATS.

MIDFIELD : Langdon needs to improve to keep his spot. Oliver keeps his spot, Hunter keeps his spot. Gawn keeps his spot, Brayshaw keeps his spot, Viney keeps his spot and Sparrow keeps his spot. We need another midfielder and I think Sanders will be our man. We should look at Hollands IMO. Woewodin is depth ATS.

FORWARDS: Petracca keeps his spot, van Rooyen keeps his spot, Neal-Bullen keeps his spot. Fritsch keeps his spot, Petty keeps his spot and Pickett keeps his spot. J.Smith keeps his spot too. Spargo, Laurie and Chandler are depth ATS. We are looking at McAdam.

CONCLUSION: I think we need a CHB, a half back, a wingman and midfielder and pray we don't get injuries to our best 22.

Langdon, like Samson, lost his strength when he decided to go bald. Please grow the hair mate!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
