Jaded No More 68,976 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 But but but we didn’t play 4 quarters of footy 🙄 Good hit out and nobody died. Loved what McVee served up 2 2 Quote
Gawndy the Great 9,011 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 At the race. Levers right ankle size of tennis ball. Didn’t look pretty l. 1 1 3 1 Quote
JimmyGadson 3,455 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 We saw a response. Good sign, no doubt it would have been addressed during that third quarter. No injuries positive. Mcvee looks great. Hunter going to change us. Grundy will work into it. 6 1 Quote
Kev 10,926 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Trac looks like he has a noticeable limp. @Demonland I have always thought so. I think it is just the way he walks. 4 Quote
Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Solid game first up. McVee impressive and Grundy will get better, that was his first competitive match for a while. Petty is still very good one on one back there. 1 Quote
P-man 13,367 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Enjoyed the commentator talking about the Saints needing to find a way past Tom Petty as the spare man down back. 5 1 2 4 Quote
adonski 13,267 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Hunter prolific McVee classy and clean Rivers busy - like the midfield move Bowey excellent marking/bodywork for a player of his size Grundy a bit underwhelming Edited February 24, 2023 by adonski 8 Quote
Josh 1,420 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Gawn floating back freeing up Lever is 2021 vibes. Don't have to have perfect forward connection when the other team can't score. Nice to see the short option at lockout too 3 Quote
BDA 23,048 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 My boy Hunter played well. Loved his disposal. I liked Chandlers game as well good workout overall And I'm not holding out much hope of the Saints surprising Freo in Wk 1. Looks like a long season ahead for them. 6 1 Quote
Kev 10,926 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Huuter coped a hit to his leg, late in that last quarter. Lever walked onto the ground at the end, minus a boot. I liked Rivers game, was even organising the backline structure, and often first to support/encourage his mates. Mcvee looks at home. Edited February 24, 2023 by kev martin 8 Quote

whatwhat say what 23,855 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 i missed most of q2 cos of meetings, but based on what i did see of those four quarters: - lever won't play round 1; plugger back, Fritsch comes in - mcvee replaces salem as small defender - chandler required in 23 as pickett given more room to roam - grawndy still a work in progress - hunter will be a weapon as a second wingman - rivers ahead of sparrow and jj as next rotation mid 4 1 Quote
Demon Jack 7,194 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Wasn't huge on Grundy today. Thought most of his taps went to the opposition and his disposal was simply meh. Still thrilled we got him, hopefully he works into some form before the start of the season. Quote
old55 23,860 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Phillipou said he was the best player in the draft and he might be right. Brad Hill got plenty of it with some good run. Both good dreamteam options. Wilkie was decent. The only bright spots for the Saints, it's going to be a long season for them. Quote
Demon Disciple 12,536 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Grundy and Gawn will take time to settle in together, but when they gel look out 👀 4 Quote

Sparrow will continue playing good minutes, he was better than people think 1 Quote
chook fowler 19,772 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Bowza looked in great form 2 1 Quote
The Chief 697 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Think a 10 goal win is what most of us would have hoped/expected. Trac break tackles with ease, Hunter showing what a draft steal that was, Rivers and Kozzy getting decent midfield time and McVee’s cool defending were some of the highlights for me. 7 Quote
brendan 3,458 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 McVee was great looks to be another great Taylor pick up. bowey 1 on 1 was improved significantly hunter a draft steal Grundy and Gawn still combined for 3 goals let’s be honest if that’s a weekly occurrence then that will work brilliantly 6 Quote
