Hopefully another player that Fremantle has low-balled and they’ve decided to leave.  We were very keen but maybe his price has risen too high.

This, unfortunately he has come on this year. Needed to get him for nothing and then have him improve, now they will want a more than we might be prepared to give.

If we can all agree that he his back half / wing, how does he fit into the team? Who does he replace?

I do agree he has speed and good skill, I have yet to see him carve up teams like B.Hill, Milera (Saints and Adelaide), Coleman/Mckenna (Lions) with his kicking skills and ball movement ability though.

Happy to add him to the team as a prospect, but not with a round 1 pick as Freo will undoubtedly want. Maybe our late 2nd rounder and a future 3rd for good measure.

Don't know much about this guy but do remember he was rated as the best small forward in Kozzie's draft.  I remember a friend who goes for Freo saying last year he's got skills but wishes he had some of Kozzie's aggression as he hasn't put it together much at AFL level.

Makes me think of where Bedford was up to last year - he'd played a number of games and showed a lot of upside.  To me he wasn't able to settle and ended up not making the most of his disposals in most games (which is not uncommon for young players finding their feet).  But look where he is now!

Is Henry one pre-season away from taking a big step?

Probably would've been interested this time last year but we grabbed lachie hunter for that wing spot and also have blake howes in waiting who needs to get a run at it next year. Have never seen Liam Henry play a good game as a small forward so no wonder we lost interest

Was in reference to the Hawks racism accusations, Amon was recruited before that came out

The allegations were made as part of an external review commissioned by the club, and were made public by the ABC on 20 September 2022. An AFL investigation was triggered, and ran until May 2023.

30 Sept 2022  Hawthorn have signed Port Adelaide wingman Karl Amon to a four-year deal after the AFL free agency period opened on Friday.

A touch of 'double standards here.  Why would the Dockers be fuming?  I don't recall any angst when LJ sought a trade from us.

Reminds me of the recent Ashes series...maybe this is all part of an application for British English citizenship?

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
