I am looking forward to -

Fitter, more sustained pressure

Tougher, be the hunters, take no prisoners

Smarter, kick long when it’s on, lower the eyes or kick sideways to open space and no more loopy handballs which ar 50/50 at best. Blood the youngsters.

We blooded Sparrow, JJ, LJ, Kozzie, Riv and Bowey over a two year period and won a Granny we need to be more daring and don’t carry injured players.

We will learn to win at the G more often than this season.

Clarry & Trac will again knock each other out of the Brownlow.

We will bounce back and win the GF.

You reckon they’ll move the MCG to Alice Springs just for a weekend?

I never said all home games

3. One positive - we will finally win the free kick count against Footscray.

We won the free kick count 19-13 in last year's Grand Final, just in case you missed it.

Getting back on track, I’m sure we can bank on ourselves pulling our hair out at some point when the CS haven’t evolved…

either our list and composition changes drastically or we will have to adapt the game style

1. Clarry will be niggled, poked, pushed, held, gouged and punched every week with no protection from the umpires.

2.  The score review system will be crap again.

3. We will be motivated by this year and will win.

3. Last round interstate

Since 1998 we've been the designated home team in the final round just 7 out of a possible 25 times.

Since 1998 we've travelled just once interstate in round 1 (in fairness)

The sun will come up.

Gil will be gone from the AFL.

There will be no announcement on our home.

The second of these is looking shaky.

1. Charlie Spargo has a breakout season and is talked about as the next Brent Harvey.

2. Jacob Van Rooyen is mispronounced by a commentator during a huge pack mark... Rooyening the moment.

3. Christian Petracca will get the most Brownlow votes but will not be eligible due to suspension for bumping Patrick Cripps.

  1. De Going Nowhere will be locked up in a jail somewhere in Asia
  2. Colinwood will be filthy that they are paying 350k for Grundy to finish top five in the Bluey and win the Norm Smith
  3. Eddie and Jeff will propose a break-away Super League comp for white men only.

1. Jake Melksham will be sh*t-canned on DL.

2. Jake Melksham will be sh*t-canned on DL.

3. Jake Melksham will be sh*t-canned on DL.

But you know what… I don’t care.
That he’s being sh*t-canned on DL means he’s with us for another year and that he’s with us for another year means the usual pot-shotters will be most aggrieved. And this amuses me no end. 😁

We are talking 2023 season. If he is still there then God help us as the AFL will have probably imploded.

New blood on every line

Players injured must return through VFL

Defence + contest + speed of ball= success.

Not saying it is likely to happen but what if neither club could come up with a deal we like?

Well it is a possibility. I just feel like deals usually get done these days but who knows.

You missed Joel Smith will be [censored] canned as well *

*as long as he plays seniors .. playing ressies DL seems to think he will be the next Garry Ablett Senior if we played him forward....

Dees will miss the top 8.

I’ve actually thought this too. I just don’t think Goody will change enough and with the looming exit of Yze and possibly Mark Williams, the incoming coaches will probably not feel comfortable in challenging him.

1. Kozzy, finally will take Mark of the Year (century) on top of Luke Jackson's head in R1 trip to Perth (theatre);

2. Oliver or Petracca to win the Brownlow, both either way, they will finish either 1, 2 in the count; &

3. Dees to bounce back and beat the Blues in a thriller in the GF (just have a feeling about them?🤷‍♂️).

Agree with both points. Also, I think it’s fair to suggest that the improvement of the sides around us seems to be quickly surpassing the plateaued side we presented week-in-week-out (before I get shouted down by other posters, I do acknowledge the injuries we also carried).

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
