FINALS 2022: Week 03

No offence to anyone but these bin dippers had no right being in this game. They aren't a premiership team's bootlace

Geelong are well truly prepared to win this years flag.

They’ve had the luxury of resting players and look supremely fit across the board.

And tbey’ve been mostly excellent at the G.

Poor Holmes looks done for with a hammy.

Amazing i50 by Myers to Hawkins.

If only we could do similar instead of long bombing to a pocket

Yes that's the sort of ball user you want running into 50.  Aside from Spargo, we wouldve kicked that straight to the Brisdonk player ahead of Hawkins on the Arc.

Imagine being the team that put them into this game.

It would help a bit if they’re marquee Brownlow midfielder could touch the prune more than twice a quarter.

Hope the cats win by 100 points. The Lions deserve it

Geelong are super fresh, and we’ve been flat for 3 months.

The upside is that they didn’t do this to us.

The Lions didn’t beat us, we did with our inaccuracy in the first half. Game should’ve been over at half time.

It wasn't  and the Lions won

Geelong are cherry ripe.

They're just toying with the Lions. Watch for the dam wall  break.

Funny how Geelong look fit and fresh. Wonder if that's got to do with management of players through the season..

Hmm funny that........

Plus the very kind draw courtesy of the beautiful people at the AFL.

They are a kind bunch aren't they?

I think we can say it - Brisbane played their Grand Final last week

They were just fortunate enough to line up against some pea-hearted witches hats in their gf

I notice Selwood doesn't twirl the ball in his hands running up to kick for goal like Petracca .

I wonder if that's relevant..or even common sense?

Why do Geelong have sequinned shorts on? Are they going to do a cabaret number at half time?

Sponsored by Andrew Lloyd Webber

This should be us getting flogged…

BT reckons there's a lot of time left..

Then notes the Lions are a long way behind.

That's 12 stupidities so far

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
