Wow, Daniher out will change our defensive plans, but maybe effect the Lions more.

Their advantage was the talls.

We are flexible with our ability for all the backs to play either small,  medium or tall.

News of the Queen's death must've hit him hard

Daniher out, this is the kind of massive fillip that the team needs. Lions a huge chance now.

Any ideas?

He's part of a football royalty family.🤷‍♂️

I would really like it to NOT be close. A win with minimal effort would be much better.

Yeah keep the pretence about "flicking the switch " going as long as possible

His partner just went into labour.

Daniher out because his partner has gone into labor and he wants to be by her side. Noble as a partner, but gosh if it was a main Melbourne man i wouldn't be overly happy.

Lions have gone from imv being 'too tall' in the round 23 game to not tall enough this time, without Oscar Mc and Daniher.

Certainly makes for a different game to the last few between the two teams..

They still control the reigns on game day. Now the squad is selected the aspects of going in unchanged is irrelevant.

Would prefer them to make actions then sit on their hands (which they have done in the past), if Brissy starts taking control or we need to get rolling.

You want them to be non proactive or reactive?

Maybe you misinterpreted my intentions, or you are holding onto something about the coaches?

In style, the tempo, take it on, play percentages,

In structure, extra players at the contest, or in defence,  push up the field from defense, crowd the ball, play one on one.

I could keep going, I hope you get my gist.

The coaches have to make quick decisions during the game and not just let it roll on.

Fair enough ,if Goodwin suddenly becomes a game day coach it would help for sure.

We heard it was Max who made the winning move last yeat

Bad timing, what a decision to make.

Well done to Daniher to focus on nurturing his family. They have strong family bonds.

The hero from last week is out, wonder how that changes them structurally?

I'm with you here. They now go in smaller and we seem to have a bit of trouble with the small forwards other than Hibbo keeping Cameron quiet. Need to change our mindset in the backs now. Daniher against the likes of May is a liability. Prefer him to play but we still need to win in the guts and away we go.

But they don't go in small.

Fullerton is legitimate the same height as Daniher.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
