Clearly we had the game looking a Melbourne game!

Hopefully all the boys get through unscathed - It was meant to be full match sim.

Reports indicate that we won but could have prevailed by more had we not eased off in the last half.

i thought they could have won by more if they had kicked straight

losing side are claiming they were crucified by the umpires

Who's the player for the red team on Luke Jackson's left (that is, on the RHS of the photo)?

I'd be guessing but Caseys Miles Shepherd perhaps

I’m hearing we were leading at 3/4 time and blew it

Any chance to play finals I wonder?

If he plays on Saturday (VFL), plays well and pulls up ok, I'd imagine he would be an option for the team.

If there was no chance, would he even be out there?

I’d imagine his best chance is to get 2 games in the VFL and then be the sun coke a prelim? Plays fwd and back (and wing apparently) ..

When Tmac has a full preseason, his endurance is right up there with ANB, and was able to play further up the field and on the wing.

With limited running, I assume he would have to be an impact player coming off the bench. He creates a difficult match up and is dangerous as he can kick straight when takes a mark in the forward area.

Your right about him being able to go back if needed.

What I will be looking for when/if he plays in the VFL is his turning circle, ability to change direction, his capacity to run and chase, and whether he can get the ball.

That pic is just gold. They’ve been together for 10 years. Heart and soul players

100% reckon we’ll be seeing T Mac in finals

Do you remember that time that Viney thumped Tmac in a tackle at training? 6 years ago now!

It's getting heated: Jack Viney and Tom McDonald clash at training.

Whether he gets up or not, the doubt in the opposition would be palpable. Imagine if the Dees could announce a full list to select from going in to finals!

This fallacy that T Mac plays wing goes back to 2018 when he in pre season trained on the wing and when he made the AFL in about Round5 he started fit snout 5 mins on the wing to warm up and run around before going to CHF.

For some reason a number of D/Lers want Tmac on the wing or say he can play a game there. Basically this is a nonsense as he is not conditioned to play that role in AFL even given he has a good tank enough to be a lively CHF who makes things fo much easier for the small forwards to crumb and goal.

Tmac also ensures if he doesn't mark tbe ball in the CHF position sometimes as a high half forward or just leading to the wing like BBB does sometimes, his opponent dies not also and keeps the ball in our forward zone.

It just always riles me when D/Lers want Tmac "on the wing " as they truly don't understand his proper role in the team. He is no more a winger than you or me.
Forget 2018 and his fleeting role but I sure rate him as a very important player in our 2022 team and can't wait for him to be fit for say a Prelim (or Semi Final) to bolster us up forward.

So please give up this wing sh.t once and for all it's just fantasy in a real 2022 world.

PS As he showed in Round1 going back into defence is his forte though if we need him to. That is real.

Go Tmac!

Calm down pal.

In the 2021 pre season. It was clearly stated he was trained to play as a fwd and his secondary training position was on a wing.

I’m not saying that’s where he should play just saying if he has been trained in the position, he could in theory play a quarter or 2 there as a sub if needed.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
