Well the home and away season has come and gone, very quickly,  I might add.

Just want to give those who keep this site up and running for very little return a big genuine thank you for all their work.

I've had a few health issues this year and often this site has been more than a  place of info, venting and knowledge.

More often than not it has been a great source of amusement and laughter with not a few some posters having great senses of humor( is that grammatically correct Demonstone?)

There have been many times this site has been a huge valve release during a game, keeping me to drinking healthy levels of alcohol intake  and less comfort eating.

On a more serious note or a lesser one, many  posters have given me much  free amusement ( aside from my paltry donation to the site) and even more made me laugh out loud even if I didn't feel like it.

It also seems we have been less cranky with one another this season with less sniping and more positivity. Maybe a flag after 57 years will do that.

So thank you again to those keeping the site going and to those who have shared their unique humor, wit and time over the six months.

May we blessed with at least another one  of the same fun up until the siren sounds our 14th flag.

I wish I had cut and pasted a highlights reel for some of the top posts and we could have handed  out  some awards, for there have been some posts up there with ... Jesaulenko You Beauty 😃 maybe next year.

Cheers fellow Dlandees.

Litd.

Many hands makes light work and it's not always the easiest job for these guys. On top of that they provide us with a great podcast that keeps us informed week after week.

Great work DL team. Such a pleasure to be part of it 👏

I've certainly found this year and to an extent most of last year to be lower stress and more enjoyable than any other time of being a MFC supporter as well.  The moments of sheer emotion and elation from Rd 23 onwards last year were something to behold.  Getting to share that with everyone on this forum has been great.

This season has been so different to any other I've experienced as a footy supporter.  To be honest, I've almost found myself being a bit bored and apathetic towards footy at times, which is something quite new to me.  Alot of the time I haven't felt a burning desire to read or contribute to D'land either. However the losses we had through the middle part of the season have reminded me that it's not all peaches and the wins somewhat against the grain against Carlton and Brisbane in recient weeks have got me excited for what we could produce again.

Look forward to riding out the next month with my fellow posters / Demon faithful.  Would love to be wearing a MFC jumper with 14 on the back that represents both a few of my favorite players and the number of flags we've won! (P.S. my son has a jumper with BBB's playing No. on the back!!).

P.P.S. hope your health is on the up Litd.

Lovely post. I feel the same.

This site means a lot to me. It’s a release valve for me. As my wife says when I regularly get annoying - why don’t you go on your silly footy forum and crack your stupid jokes on there?

aww. You can feel the love

thanks DL for prolonging my marriage!

Indeed it has.

Game day threads can be a bit intense at times, but the average football threads are way less aggro compared to 2013. It was Beyond Thunderdome stuff back in those days.

Hopefully this love and good will can last through when we become poo again some day in the (very distant) future!

Thanks guys. As the lone Demon supporter in my household and now living away from Melbourne I enjoy the insights, humour and the bantering on DL.

I am married to a Pies supporter and he is somewhat envious (even though he will not admit it) as there is nothing like this for Pies fans who want information and intelligent conversation.

Listening to the podcast makes my weekly drives into the city much more bearable.

Keep up the good work and I will be making another donation first thing tomorrow.

Go Dees.

I would like to add my sincere thanks to all those responsible for this great site.

And thanks to my fellow posters ... love your work  ... well for the most part !!! Love yous all*.

And apologies for my sometimes rambling/incoherent posts.

Gee Winners, if you feel you need to apologise then I probably need to build a church in Demonland's honour! 😆

I wonder how difficult it might be to run a few searches for 'post of the day' results or simply posts which got an unusual number of reactions and responses for their topic? That could be a way to assemble a Demonland Yearbook.

Ooh, Demonland Yearbook, we're opening up the merch stores now!

Well done to all involved for providing us with the great privilege of this website! thank you for another great season! hopefully the boys will reward you with another flag!

Great post Mr Deever.I too am in poor health these days and not able to get out much.Demonland is a great source of footy talk , amusement and entertainment while being cooped up inside. So thanks to all .

Great site. Thanks to Andy and the team for keeping the show on the road.

And thanks to all the great contributors whose insights and knowledge of the game make the professionals in the media look like muppets

Great post, it was a good reminder for me to chip in and help keep the ship floating.

MEDICATION TIME..............

Yep an antidote for the whole world...... That is if u are a Dees Fan!!😇

I am sure that Andy appreciates all the kind thoughts offered by everyone.

The fact that he keeps this site going to all of our collective benefit is simply very generous.

But it is not just the time ( which is extensive) but it costs $'s to run and maintain. Money that otherwise comes from his pocket.

Software, upgrades, hosting fees, equipment for podcasts...all costs.

So if you can help with these, take out an annual or lifetime membership, or just donate a little to keep the ship afloat.

Any extra left over is directed toward player sponsorhip, so the club benefits as well.

Thanks again to everyone, you make this site what it is.......

I joined DL in April 2021 so it’s needless to say I’ve not been here for the 💩 times, only the good and great times. 🏆

Andy and co. provide an awesome service and I’m forever grateful to be a part of this site. 💕

There’s some absolutely beautiful souls on DL. But if I may, I wanna thank one in particular, that being the young Dees diehard who introduced me to DL in the first place. He’s a longtime member of DL who reads the content but never posts (hey hey 👋 you know who you are. 😘).

How did we meet? I’m glad I asked. 😁 So, I had a tradesman at mine doing a repair. When his work was finished he came into the kitchen with the paperwork, saw my mini shrine (my pantry wall) and uttered those five magic words… Who’s the Melbourne supporter here?

Well, what ensued was the biggest Dees-nerd sesh ever there was. We gushed about our beloved Club for like 40 mins or so. He told me about DL and I joined that very day, probs before he even left my driveway. 😆

THANK YOU ANDY AND CO.
❤️💙💖❤️💙

I also am so grateful that I found Demonland, I no longer read the Sports sections and rely on this site and MFC site for all my footy news and intelligence on what is happening within our mighty club and AFL. Our posters keep us informed with greater clarity, humour and timelines than other sources. I thinks that my better half sometimes gets a little jealous of my devotion to our site. Thanks Demonland and all posters for making our lives just that little bit more enjoyable and fulfilled. ❤️💙🤘💕

I once had a tradesman over at my place who also must have seen some Demon's paraphernalia and asked if I go for the Demons. We had about the Demons for about 20 mins and he told me that I must go to Demonland to read about the Demons.

True Story.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
