Very interesting

50 th games  for rivers and jackson

good luck lads.   Do it for the west of us !

His numbers have been good but he has looked absolutely buggered during games recently.

Back to Sparrow, Harmes, Viney all being in the same midfield group. The stuff of horrors.

Surely Harmes is there to tag Neale into the ground again

I feel so sad for him. He was dropped and made sub around the same time last year and ended up as sub in the grand final. I feel like he’s more than earnt his spot this season and I hope it’s just a temporary rest and he’s back in the side for finals.

Just like in the GF...really horrific

Clause 1A in Gus' contract looking shaky

Might be playing forward pocket at this rate

Surprising! Maybe a late change?

If not, should consider himself unlucky with Charlie Spargo getting a gig in front of him...

JJ pretty stiff. The only out

Not stiff. He’s been fading out of games for a month.

Really think he just needs a rest to freshen up. While he isnt the most damaging player, he sure has been good as that link up player on the wing this year.

Sparrow is lucky imo.

Harmes in.

Don't get beaten by what you know. Says david king.

Nailed the key issue. Well done MCttee

Dip in form of Jordon was no doubt caused by that knock to his medial ligament that happened a couple weeks ago. Been strapped since.

No Weideman in emergencies is telling. Shows how far back he is.

Jordan unlucky, I know he was carrying a niggle but it’ll be hard to get back into the team now.

I wonder if Gus will go back to the wing or we try Sparrow or Spargo goes there full time.

It's a case of horses for courses. If Harmes can mininise Neale's influence the change will be justified, however unlucky Jordon is entitled to feel. Bit worried about Spargo, though. His impact in recent games has been minimal.

That would be Melbourne Football Club premiership players Mr. James Harmes, Mr. Jack Viney and Mr. Tom Sparrow.

Been a liability since the knee injury. Will be better for it. Most oppositions attack this side of the ground to expose his questionable fitness.

He already has.

With the injury to Tmac this side is about as good as it gets. We should be able to get a win in QLD.

I don’t understand why they played Harmes in the slog last Sunday if they intended him to play tomorrow. Did he get rested in the last quarter? Surely JJ won’t miss out again after playing all year - perhaps being freshened up.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
