Is the club looking at him as a hunt replacement? Surely they know hunter is not in the same stratosphere pace wise as hunty?

Seems highly unlikely the deal will happen anyway.

He's a better player than Hunt

Okayyyy rogue 9 post member.....

In fairness to him he pretty said this was a done deal on Monday and that we would be paying 200k of his contract.

Strange that it hasn't been announced if it was done on Monday..?

If we get Hunter, it must be the end for Baker, surprised he wasn't delisted last year.

Could he be our Issac Smith?

Smith passes the NDH test.  Hunter doesn't.

I would take Lachie Hunter...quite happily..

I think more so that we were front runners basically for his service and were willing to pay the 200k. I believe St Kikda chased him as well.

Late pick and they are paying a big portion of his wage

I like it. I mean I already knew we were a big shot, but he'll make us better.

Paul Connors on SEN just said he and Hunter thought a new start would be good. One club in discussion but a few other things happening with that club also. Was non committal who or if.

I'll have to put aside my dislike for the bloke.

Best way to get on my good side would be a duck to win a free kick, and slot the goal after the siren to win it the game for us in week 1. that'll do it

The other club was North.

jj won't be happy

He should get midfield minutes but yeah he will need to learn a role in the forward line and is competing with his mate Tom again.

Didn't hear it but it sounds like he is talking about the Dees with a few things happening with that club also ie: Weideman and Schache.

Tim Lamb just said on trade radio its 'in no man's land and probably unlikely' (paraphrasing)

Edited by The Stigga

Tim Lamb says unlikely we get Hunter

Tim Lamb trade radio “we have spoken to Lachie but made no commitment. And the dogs haven’t made a commitment to let him go. In no man’s land at the moment. Unlikely to go through”

Timb Lamb on Trade radio just said no commitment is being discussed at the moment.

Not sure what to make of this, waiting for something else to fall for dogs? Maybe it hinges on Dunkley, no idea TBH

Won't name players but we don't have a good track record with resuscitating those with mental health/behavioural issues.

Good to hear - balances the decades of creating mental health issues across the supporter base.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
