Had Ah Chee not gotten concussed that I highly doubt he gets suspended. It really was just a clumsy bump was orchestrated well in terms of technique.

Reckon it'll get downgraded to 1 week.

How do you reckon Paddy Ryder will feel, considering he stopped, stood still and a player ran into him and got whiplash?

He copped 2 weeks. No concussion, no bump.

Did you think Chandler's legal tackle, until a concussion resulted, deserved his two?

Did you think ANB's sling deserved 4 in a 17 week season?

No

Hope he appeals and it is reduced to one week so he is available to play against the Ferals the following week

Agree, just give him the 1 week. We need carlton to knock off the pies

Don't do that. Burn down Ikon Park instead

Pffff.  KittyLitter Park while you are on your rampage.  Then they can rebuild it in a proper shape, and add in adequate seats for visitors.

They’re appealing.

Well, that’s just a matter of taste.

I personally find them a little on the objectionable side.

No to both.

I'm not a fan of the outcome being decided by the result and not the intent but understand the crackdown on head high injuries.

I didn't think there was that much in it when I first saw the Cripps incident. He was contesting. He just got there far too late and braced for impact.

1 week for mine simply for the carelessness and impact.

It was a reckless and dangerous attack on the player who was concussed.

The AFL should appeal to increase the penalty.

Yep agree, can Demonlanders stop making excuses and lowering mitigating factors for him? Left the ground, chose to bump, player concused, should have got 4 weeks. End of story for him

Can anyone remember a time when we have challenged a suspension? Not the Melbourne way? That Steven May one when he was ran into still infuriates me.

bailey fritsch last year. initially rubbed out for a game (I think) but got off on appeal

Reckon he should have been given more than the 2 for leaving the ground but also won't be surprised if the find a way to let him off.

Best case scenario for us will be a reduction to 1 week.

I think player was pushed into him, or he was pushed into player.

Fritta last year, and he got off.
I remember it coz there were more DL-ers logged on during the hearing than ever there was even on a GameDay thread during a match. 😁

I’m not sure how they can appeal this? It was classed as Careless impact which got him high and the impact was high because he was concussed. The only way is they can contest it to low impact which is ridiculous or if they say it wasn’t a careless act but a footy act?

Due to concussion, Ah Chee will miss this week - but he should also miss the next 10 for allowing his face to interfere with Cripps'

There should be a penalty if you lose an appeal. Its just a waste of everyones time.  Carlton have nothing to lose. AFL is so badly run. Amateurs running a professional league.

i think there is a "fee" for an appeal ($10,000???)

I think youre right but 10k is lunch money for clubs.

The suspension should be double if you lose after wasting everyones time.

That’s the surprising part of this. It should have been 3 weeks, reduced to 2 if he accepted a plea of the 2 weeks. This way there’s absolutely no cost to Cripps if he appeals (apart from a week’s pocket money spent on the cost of the appeal and the QC acting as his mouthpiece).

Incidental contact… what BS. That’s not a footy act.

The key issue to play out at the tribunal will be what duty of care Cripps had towards Ah Chee, given he elected to bump and lifted his feet off the ground, as the 2022 AFL guidelines state that if a player elects to bump, they take on the risk – and the consequences!!!  This is what we need to stamp out of the game.

Jumping and bumping to the head. It’s a low act from a star footballer !!
