This is taking even longer than a goal review after the ball has clearly hit the post or been touched behind the line.

The door has been opened. Apparently the Tribunal said he was contesting the ball but should have been more careful. They didn’t say he bumped.

I smell a rat. Why wouldn’t they have simply found he bumped?

Is this a set up to get him off at the last stop, so it looks like they fought hard to suspend him.

We will see.

That rat is getting more smelly.

We know a fish rots from the head, but it seems that a rat does too.

What a farce! Don't really care either way but gotta be a big distraction for their club and ultimately the team this whole episode. Can't wait to Smash the pretenders

"But it's Cripps"

"But he flattened the guy. We can't let him off."

"Yeah, I know ... but it's Cripps."

"Sh*t. It *IS* complicated, isn't it!?"

A pity this hearing wasn’t on a plane. Cripps would be a certainty to be out with DVT being up in the air for so long

Just to top things off, Carlton is to get a draft compo pick for a 30 year old retiring rather than be vaccinated under the AFL guidelines.

Give us a break.

The longer the deliberations the greater the chance of overturn the result

Probably at least twice that chook.

I better start saving for my upcoming vagrancy and public nuisance charges.

Just wait until the AFL announces an end of first round pick as compo

Organise a couple of false identities and receive some dud pension or dole money chook.

It's what the AFL would recommend.

The Appeals Board has been deliberating for an hour so far.

Ffs, must be looking for an angle to let him off

This whole process is taking far longer than both the bloody matches he’s missing. What a waste of time and money!

And would they waste this much time on a no name player in the interest of justice.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!
