Weather looking pretty miserable for the game. Big Cox will be about as useful as one of those flapping inflatable figures at used car yards

Like mammaries on a bull.

Just watched the last quarter of the 2017 QB game on Kayo, where Jack Watts kicked the sealer. The ball was parked in our forward 50 for most of that quarter and our pressure was fantastic. Another game like that tonight (with a bigger margin) would be brilliant.

And I'll never forget the roar from behind us at that Punt Rd end when Jack kicked that goal. Goosebumps.

To quote a headline from the back page of the Herald Sun (circa early 1960s) that has stuck with me over the years: "Today's Magpies are Tomorrow's Feather Dusters".

I'd be happy with the headline tomorrow re-introducing another word from that era as in "Colliwobbles strike the Pies"

I don't mind what Ed said about this game, just because i think it could get into the Pies heads a little bit. reality is they may have won a string of games, but they're 3rd with a percentage of 106% which suggests to me they're not winning convincingly, they're winning close games.

hopefully we give them a really blunt reality check tonight and send another warning shot to the competition.

I reckon the Cats form is just starting to drop slightly as well so can't help but feel we're building at just the right time again to give another flag a very serious shake.

On the subject of booing: it’s likely Langers will attract more than his fair share tonight. Maybe only for the first quarter or part thereof, since average Collingwood supporter = attention span of a moth.
I hope they boo him loudly and often as that’d mean he’s getting a lot of the ball.
That said, we (DA) will try our damndest to drown them out. Hopefully all Dees peeps join in!

I went to a game in the ‘70’s, horethorn versus Fitzroy. My mate couldn’t stand Normie Goss. Every time he went near the ball, my mate booed. I remember thinking half way through the third quarter, “[censored], Paul is booing a lot”. Goss touched it 35 times. :-)

Loved Jack. He’s still one of us in my book.

It’s the greatest demon roar I’ve ever herd!

Just amazing

I remember being so happy for Jack. One of the great modern day Melbourne moments… & I’ll never forget it.

I certainly hope that we have very good umpires tonight that are not overly influenced by the the feral army.

Not wanting to buy into the mental health issues discussed above (at least not in this post), I also hope the umpires don’t soften up on their interpretation of the head ducking rule because of after match comments from last week.

If you get caught high going for the ball - free kick. If you look like your objective is to get a free, rather than the footy  - play on. Pretty simple!

We’ll see what happens tonight

I’d go further. If you’re playing for the free, whistle > free kick to Deez> + 50 metres > goal Deez > filth loose by 1 point.

[[censored], better go back to work]. ‘Land is worse than Tic Tok.

Thanks Dayzy. At one stage I though he was going to be the next Peter Hudson. Turned out more Waterman.

Just had a look at the BOM and it appears these latest showers maybe?? the last. Could clear by time of first bounce. Mind you I'm up in Qld so got no idea really. Needs to be a firm track as I picked Dees by 43 points.

Seems that way, most of it over the next hour or so?

Loudest roar for a Dees’ goal I’ve heard at the G!

Other special mentions:

Jones or Hannan’s in the  2018 Elimination Final.

2006 Elimination Final when Brock McLean slotted one from a missed kick in.

Absolutely sensational!!! It was a great result.  Watts ran so hard from half back to create the opportunity.
And love the reaction. And Jeremy 💩Howe’s disappointing face

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
