Well they do make up a fraction. And that’s not just a maths jibe, the MCC is sometimes 3 qtrs of the Dees fans at a game during the year.

Just for your reference - This was from the Redlegs members area, not MCC.  The place was jumping.  I'm right next to the camera, screaming like a mad woman, btw. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxcXAZ_MW4LzbHQ_khGWD2h2DnzMnChKpF

Queens Park Rangers. Have followed them since 1974 when I first lived in London for seven years. Been up and down but just loved standing behind the goals and getting involved with the crowd. Been to all the big grounds up and down the country but felt at home at Loftus Road.  Go Hoops.

that'll become kings park rangers, presumably

So far it’s sunny and bloody warm. No excuse not to turn up.

Half then?

Not to be flippant but I don’t see the point in running away from our MCC support.

Putting words in my mouth there.

MFC fans would still represent most of the MCC yeah?

Yes, I would say that a large percentage of MCC members barrack for Melbourne, but I don't think it goes the other way.  Most Melbourne supporters are not members of MCC

Are QCs now KCs?

That they are 👍

You seem to be all over DA matters Katrina.

Anything special happening tonight?

I don't know.  I'd like to think there would be a respectful reference to the Queen.

The only conversation I've had with DA regarding the Queen was at 4.30 this morning when I was told "don't go to the MCG, they've cancelled the live cross on Sunrise".

All my group are.

On the flip side I'd like to know how many MFC supporting MCC members are also members of the football club.

Edit: I do know of 1, me. We're off the mark.

MCC expecting 60k tonight.

Our crowds have been phenomenal this season, but I expect a low crowd tonight for a final. Reckon we'll struggle to get 60,000 there tonight.

If we win, I'd expect 90,000 against the Cats next week though!

Phenomenal?
don’t think I could name a single crowd that was phenomenal.

our crowds are hugely inflated by having home games against Melbourne teams at the mcg.

Latest forecast says a shower around 6 pm and that’s it for the night!

My app says partially sunny at 6pm then no rain.

To be fair it’s Melbourne. Could yet snow.

radar would agree with the 6pm approx shower

I banged on about this last week but I thought the supporters were great tonight. Decent turnout with 62k and the place was electric at times especially during the 2nd half. Unfortunately the team didn't get the job done but the supporters were fantastic. 👏👏👏

Agree everyone there did their part.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
