Looks like they have work experience kids directing tonight, if only they would let them do the commentary.

Surely with JVRs competitiveness both in the air and on the deck he is a logical replacement for Weid next week.

I think you may well be  right, but whatever, Sam is in OUR team tonight and bagging him here really achieves nothing.  C'mon Sam, kick a bag in the second half.

Believe Weid. 2 goals………..I feel it.

It all comes down to 'the want' and imposing yourself into a game regardless of conditions LN.

Hopefully he can turn it around in the second half and contribute.

Weirdly, reckon his game is opposite to  last week... Go lots of reward for less effort last week, this week he's having a crack, going hard in packs, laying tackles, but not getting near the pill.

C’mon Boys … lets start building for September 👹… lets dig deep and support the whole team - all 45 won it for us last year 👍😉

Camera work is as bad as the playing surface and the umpiring .... can we please see a bit of perspective and show is where the ball is headed.

THIS ⬆️ !!!!

Really looking forward to our opportunity to make sure we don't replicate our earlier meeting this year. The Dockers will take hope from that. Scores were very similar.

I want us to crush that hope.

Very quickly.

Very good quarter and half but gee that last Walters goal was absolute p*** and I'm not happy with it. Goals are at a premium in this game and you can see this because even though we are pressuring like crazy up forward the looks at goal aren't easy to get. 1 entry for the Dockers and they kick a goal. It will give them something as they go in for half time.

This is the test now, as far as I'm concerned the game starts again 0-0. We've blown these leads too many times this year and loading or not we need to take this one as a psychological boost.

Our small forwards are working tirelessly. Oliver is being sat on by Aish, but he does tend to have great second halves so expecting something similar. Aish will have his work cut out. Trac hasn't been bad but just want to see a little more polish from him. One of his trademark big time goals would be handy. Viney killing it, just loves this kind of weather.

Must come out firing in this second half.

Poor one on one work from Lever when the dump kick came in.  Doing ok but still out of sorts.

Good first half. We controlled the game and probably should’ve got a few more goals tbh. The real test is not fading away in the second half as we’ve been doing this year. Time to run our four quarters and kick off the run for another premiership.

Yep I miss being with the Demon Army tonight. One kinda gets used to being surrounded by REAL fans.
I’d plumb forgotten how mean-spirited DL can be during a match. Shameful.

Enjoy, WCW, another comprehensive victory coming up.

Their pace and space killed us last time - that Colyer is crazy quick. We seem better organised tonight. Good opportunity for a few players to play 4 quarters (Fritter 👀)

Fingers crossed that Weideman stands up in the second half and clunks a couple of goals

What a courageous mark by Lever!

Great mark Jake

Just had a look at the radar and looks like a shower coming through which can’t hurt.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
