Does this make general sense...

Naughton to WCE for pick 1/2

Lobb plus Freo first pick (16) to Dogs for pick 1/2 to Freo

Freo's pick 1/2 plus Meek to MFC for Jackson

There is no way the Dogs do this deal.  Lobb is over 30 and a hack

I love how Demonland is so pessimistic about us being 3rd on the ladder, but can convince itself effortlessly that a generational forward from a competing team is going to stroll on over into our goal square.

North will build their forward line around Larkey. No way they let him leave unless he wants out in a contract year, and even then they should push him to the PSD and draft him again.

If Jackson goes we offer North what we get for him in picks and offer Larkey the same contract we would offer Jackson.

Definitely a long shot but if Larkey stays he has to play through 3-5 years of rebuilding before they're at our level.  Come to us and he'll play finals every year (we hope).

Surely more chance of getting him than Noughton / King bros etc

We swindle JK and Naughton yet Neale Bullen still gets a bloody gig!

I've really enjoyed watching Larkey for a while now and really have just assumed he's untouchable, as a real generational key forward that North can build their forward line on.

However, what would it take to get it done? He'd be huge for us.

If it makes it easier for you, just imagine an "if this rumour is true" in front of the naughton trade packages. No one here is commenting under any conviction that a rumour is fact.

Everyone knows the DL draft and trade forum is the most fun place for thought experiments, to take our minds off the losses

Idea?

Freo: revieve Jackson

Doggiez: Lobb, future first and/or second split between freo and dees

Dees: naughton

I think the real difficult part of this idea is how to compensate the doggies on a player signed to an elite player signed to a 4 year contract. I do think a 3 way trade is likely between us all since I also have trouble deciding how freo will compensate us in a trade. Maybe involving Collingwood (grundy) or north (larkey).

The question is, if you're a WB list manager, how much is enough to satisfy your fans that you bled both Melb/Freo to get the most satisfying package for losing a generational key forward with 2 years left on a contract

WB aren't walking out of this without 3 first round picks at a minimum,  2 from Freo, 1 future from Melb. Lobb is steak knives in all of this. Jeremy Cameron at 27 was 3 firsts, Naughton is 22.

How about we offer Nort to swap / return our PREMIERSHIP FF, BBB, for Larkey who has never even played a final.  Seems very fair.  🤗🤔🙄

Been thinking the same names.

Geogiades is the most intriguing one for me, he looks a natural forward with his leading patterns and he can mark in contests.

But is he a No 1 forward?

Henry and McLean I just haven’t seen enough of.

Ben Brown will still be our #1 but he needs help.

BB And georgiades is a good set up and JVR developing too, which he will eventually take Brown's spot.

or maybe JVR might play the jackson role next yr.

but i really like the idea of getting Georgiades

they can trade it, but have to get a first rounder back in,  can trade out their first round and get in a later first rd plus more.

West coast can also get permission to trade their first this year. They would likely get permission if it was used to get a young player such as Jackson.

Thommo must have market value to a lot of clubs needing a ready made key defender. We'd be struggling for KPD depth without him though.

From a selfish point of view let’s keep as depth, but why would he want to stay when he could play in the seniors.

I'd say there would be some teams into Thommo.

The Doggies are one that are in dire need. Straight swap Thommo <> Naughton 😮.

In all seriousness, he is probably a 3rd round pick.  Or maybe consider having a crack at Brucey? I'd watch him closely over the next 2 games, to see whether his body can keep going.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
