I got them at $5! And I thought THAT was good.

I think I misread the 'To Win' column.  I realise now that is to win the Premiership not to win today...

Clearly I know nothing about betting!!  But it should have been intuitively obvious.

Hope you lose your bet!!

Your poor old Uncle Bitter is  taking a well earned break from Manorial responsibilities and enjoying a balmy 28 degrees in downtown Bangkok.

However, I shall be watching the mighty Dees thrash the Crows this afternoon.

No ruck?  No worries! Our mids will create plenty of opportunities and ,if our defence is as miserly as last game, the Crows will be lucky to get 50 points. I'm tipping May to play a cracker. I'm very confident.

I am meeting that Demonland luminary ( and Bangkok tour guide) SWYL at a sports Bar of his recommendation to enjoy the game. SWYL assures me that the establishment has a very welcoming atmosphere and is located in the Toorak of Bangkok. Nana , I believe, is the name of the suburb.

Yes i have assured Uncle that if the game becomes a dour struggle or “it doesn’t go our way” that alternative entertainment is readily available only a few steps away from the nominated Bar

Ive lived in Bangkok for many years. Nana(plaza) is a grimey concrete rabbit warren laced with gogo bars and beer bars off Sukhumvit rd soi 4.

Toorak- it is definitely not..LOL.

Advice...if you go to Nana ,Soi Cowboy or Pattaya be careful what you wish for. Not much good comes out of the Land of Smiles.

You obviously went into the wrong clubs (easy to do) deebunked. It’s all Class at Plaza de Nana.

(Spanky’s is by far the best, just quietly of course)

The locals call it Mouskuriland I believe Uncle, and apparently also after dark the Red Lights flash in unison.

Look for the redhead in the cheer squad!

Yep, hard to miss. Front row today. Probs on flogger duty but Ima try to snaffle the Giant Fritta head to wave like a maniac. Might have to wrestle Pauline for it. Spoiler: she wins. He is her son, after all.
And Speaking of the Fritsch fam, a few of them are joining the banner crew out in the middle today for Fritta’s 100th. 😃

They’re raring to go…

Yes can recommend the 'fresh air' and exercise  at the nearby Queen Sirikit Park. You can hire bicycles and do the circuit.

I stopped drinking in bars 15 years ago. Nothing will have changed. Carousel Club upstairs is one i recall.

I assume you know that alot of the pretty girls are actually  'katoey".

Crows haven’t beaten anyone since round 6

*not counting the bottom 2

should be an easy win. Clarry and Jack will shark the taps from O’Brien. Lose the hit outs, win the clearances 👍🏻

If we assume the above, we both look foolish,

Go hard or go home,  black runs only

or take no prisoners

Hypothetical

You're in hospital likely to be discharged today after spending the day in ED yesterday with a cardiac 'issue'.

Assuming discharge goes ahead, would you:

- watch the Dees game live on the TV

- only watch after knowing the result?

Your heart beats true Ken, you should be fine.

Get well soon and enjoy the game

Been a bit of money on the crows today, still expect us to win easy and move on to next week.

Losing this match last year, should ensure that the Demons are up and about.

A win would put us two games and 20% above fifth with only 7 games to go!

Go Demons!

Having not watched any crows games, does anyone have an informed take on their 3 outs? Outside running players? Will they lose a bit of run?

You assume correctly

MFCSS is running riot. I am very wary of the crows over there. Lets hope that May stops Walker from producing his walking stick.

Had a dream last night where Fritta was announced as the Coleman medalist. If that’s the case, then today is likely to be the first of some big bags of goals for him over the remaining games.

Hammil average defender. No big loss

McHenry small fwd decent player

McAdam medium fwd decent/good player

Is there a week this doesn't happen to you?

No. It is an inbuilt mechanism.

And if it does go our way the post match entertainment is only a few steps away too 😉

We also beat them by about 40pts late last year (although was a bit of an arm wrestle early) with Fritts bagging 7 (3 in the last 2 minutes if I remember correctly). Let's hope for a repeat of that one today.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
