I also loved when Emmylou would do this live with Buddy Miller...

And of course, she sung with Gram Parsons on Grievous Angel. Such a great vocalist… she has duetted on this song with some of my favourites (Gram Parsons, Buddy Miller and Elvis Costello).

Toby B has similar traits to Kossie. Runs hard and tackles hard. When he has the ball he is just as exciting to watch.

Toby and Koz though very similar seem to complement each other rather than compete.  Having those two and Spargo, who is a slightly different but equally important small forward is a luxury - I hope we can find a way to keep them all involved.
Until and unless we can find 2+ genuine tall marking forwards this seems the best option.

Yes I agree. Looking at Thursday’s performance our forward line functioned better having a smaller setup. Our transition from the backline was better because our smalls were able to spread quicker. This could be our preferred structure going into the final rounds.

There's a few on this site who have knocked him for not kicking enough goals but I think that is really undervaluing the defensive efforts and one percenters he puts in.

Opposition defenders must get the ball and then the first thought must be "where's Pickett".

As said above, I love the charging from 10 to 20metres he does to just put pressure on the kicker.

Never gives up.

There will be a wonderful turnover reel by the end of the season where Kozzie has harassed defenders and the spoils have resulted in goals for us.

Spargo, Bedford and Kozzie are comin for ya. Lookout!

It’s also not what he’s judged on internally. Most oppo supporters don’t rate him very highly. Strangely enough they don’t rate Clarry often either. But Goodwin has suggested he and his small forwards are judged in work rate, pressure acts rather than goals and Kozy is a genius at that stuff

Does anyone here have access to these pressure act and wok rate stats?

OMG Uncle Byron was so solid as well as quick and aggressive.  Would be intimidating knowing that he was in the area if you had the ball.
Nephew has the speed and aggression and still tackles well above his weight and his presence intimidates.

Kozi and Byron both start the charge in a similar manner. Lower the knees and keep their back stiff and morph into a very short range missile.

He wouldn't get through a single match without being suspended in todays game. Byron and Voss crashing into each other would've caused an earthquake! The game used to be so much harder hitting and fun to watch.

I thought the original version was by the Everly brothers?

I always thought that the original was Roy Orbison. If Wikipedia can be believed, turns out that the Everly Brothers were first but didn't release it as a single. Roy Orbison was the first to have a hit with it. It seems that there are as many  versions of "Love Hurts" as there are versions of Kossy, Kosi, Kozzy, etc. (Who else said to themselves 'Oi! Oi! Oi!' after reading that last sentence?)

Thanks for that. I didn’t think Gram Parsons did the first version.
Great Song btw

I feel like every thread I start or participate in is ultimately sidetracked by someone reminiscing about a song or gig. Not sure who, why or how and I cant be bothered trawling back. But it does get repetitively annoying.

There's probably a song about that

    TRAINING: Tuesday 28th May 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
