On Footy Classified they showed a statistic that no team has ever lost four games in a row during the season and won the premiership.  So if we lose on Thursday it's all over!

Didn't the graphic put up show that Richmond lost 4 in a row in 2017 before going on to win the flag? If so, it's not all doom and gloom should we lose Thursday...although it won't be a great feeling.

Richmond lost in rounds 6-9 2017

Must of only ever happened once.  Still a scary statistic.  If lose we'll have to be second team in history to do it

What about Richmond in 2017?

Perhaps, but it’s one more than the OP suggests.

True or not, it's nothing more than some mildly piece of trivia which in the end is utterly meaningless.

Which still means the odds are very much against us if we lose

There is no future, is no past, there's nothing but today, for yesterdays tommorrow is tommorrow's yesterday!🤨

IF we lose four in a row AND win the flag;

we will be the only team to lose 4 in a row AND and have two players get in a punch on at Entrecôte in the same season. I never thought I’d see the day.

I we lose this week we will have to wait until the week after for a win !! No good getting ulcers over it. We have had a pretty good run with injuries over the last two years. Gawny will have had a good rest by the time he comes back. I doubt whether we will see T Mac this year so we need to prepare from now ( Note , I am not a doctor but everybody else in the stratosphere is an expert on soething e.g. Corne, Lloyd, Sumich & Collingwood's baby sitter(to be appointed))

You're on the booze early today picket!

If we lose, I reckon it will be the way we lose that will be a factor in assessing our flag hopes.

If we once again collapse in the second half and Brisbane run all over us, then serious questions aside from loading will need to be asked of this group. Do the players have it in them to climb Everest 2 years in a row? The defensive indicators are suggesting not, if you believe we're 17th for pressure.

If we have a red hot crack for 4 quarters and lose a thriller on the bell, then I think we'll have taken a step in the right direction.

Stats like this are meaningless in my opinion.  Like if a team loses it's first 3 or 4 games they can't make the 8 as only one team in x amount of years has done it.

Its loading, its the vibe, its Mabo

I will just order another Chang and ride around Bangkok in a crazy life threatening Tuk Tuk

same as i did the day before

But i will tip us, I haven’t lost faith in this season yet, regardless of what i have been told

Agreed. From a statistical standpoint, there are simply not enough seasons of football to have been played for these types of insights to indicate much of a trend.

Think back to last year and that no team to have finished top of the ladder and won the GF for the prior 10-12 years or something like that. You would need at least 100-200 data points to make any sense of it all.

Heineken is my first choice, but a cold Chang is ok. LEO is reasonable, Singha is disgraceful

But the biggest problem is getting them not just Cold, But ICY COLD…

Somewhere there must be a stat showing that if a footy show gets "beat ups " wrong every second week then no one should bother watching  it

Meaningless stat in isolation as they presented it, but it does show how hard it is to reverse form.

If we continue to lose, we'll be similar to Dees of 2004-2006 where we were top four for most of those seasons but had a period in the second half of the year where we capitulated and lost 4+ games in a row. We bowed out earlier than we should've those years, especially 2004 where we were top of the ladder heading into Round 18 but lost every game thereafter to finish fifth and lose an elimination final to eighth placed Bombers.

Let's hope the short bye break gave the players a chance to reset and we can get back on track. The talent is still out there even with injuries, just need to switch on mentally and bring the intensity.

Sounds good. Prefer Heineken.

You know a thread has no hope when picket fence has the most cogent and sensible contribution.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
