You want to see remorse? Have a look at Chandler's reaction to his tackle. He was almost in tears and he reached out to the opponent to check he was ok. That is true remorse for a far less intentional act! 

A good example of remorse is when Aaron vdb accidently collided with Mihocek.  He texted him to check he was ok.  Then sent a personal apology note and a bottle of wine to Mihocek's partner.

Stewart's and his club's reaction has been selfish and totally self-serving.  Even the 'mea culpa' and 'I'll pay the price' comments were self-serving:  I made a mistake.  But where is the apology!  Prestia's family must have been beside themselves.  Seeing him contorted on the ground was a sickening sight.

They said last night on the news that Stewart is friends with Jack Riewoldt, got Prestia’s number from him, and called Dion to apologise and check in on him on Saturday night.

Thank you.  I take back that part of what I said. 

Part of me still feels feel Geelong could have shown more public concern about Prestia's welfare given how vocal they have been about defending Stewart.

It seems to me that in big games, a player often gets hurt against Geelong. May had a busted face but Hawkins has clipped many without sanction. "Just clumsy"...  IIRC it happens in 1st or 2nd quarters as well. Most teams play fair nowadays and dont go looking for physical pressure. I think its the coach who creates the flavour on these things as opposed to direct instruction. But then I think the same about the Bulldogs and seeking Free kicks. We are lucky to have Goody. We have Good on our side. :)

Stewart has to get at least 4 weeks. There is no defence for what he did and I can’t to hear the arguments for how this was not intentional.

I know Chris Scott isn't popular in these parts but I didn't mind his defence of Stewart. He didn't condone the action and he was expressing how Tom knew instantly it was an awful act.

Glad to hear Stewart has apologised because it was necessary.

Totally get the anger, I just think sometimes if an incident is so out of character that no-one is going to be harder on that person than themself.

Nice of Scott to defend Stewart.  To me it sounded like a well orchestrated 'he is such a good fella' PR campaign.

I would normally agree about 'an accident'.  It was no accident.  Stewart may not have intended to hit him where he did and send him for six but the action was as deliberate as it gets.  An earlier post:

Don’t know about that mono, I was talking about the MRO inconsistencies and they’ve been on show well before B Scott was appointed to his new role.

I heard Noble say in the post match that Tarryn’s Nan died during the week and he wanted to play for her, but found it really difficult to focus during the game. He flew back to his family after the match instead of back to Melbourne.

I kind of find Demon supporters piling onto North a bit confusing. They are essentially us circa 2012-13. We turned out ok.

so the bump was intentional (deliberate) but the high hit was accidental (supposedly)

in my understanding of the mro that makes it intentional (and stewart has admitted such to scott)

Look I can definitely do without the over blown "He's a good guy butter wouldn't melt in his mouth" stuff, maybe the less said from Scott the better, he did labour the point a bit.

When the adrenalin is up and there are split seconds to make decisions then control is diminished. I'm not in any way making excuses for the act, he's clearly run past the ball and connected with a player in mid air. He'll get his right whack and should be punished to the full extent, 4 x weeks minimum in my view. 

I don't want to see coaches turn on players in these moments though, that won't help anyone.

he and luke davies-uniake are two highly rated players who look like they're a) hating their footballing life and b) played completely out of position currently

Agree. Davies-Uniacke is a gun youngster. Pace and strength.  Contracted until end 2023. Would command $$s if he went out to market and North would probably want a top 10 pick back for him.

I dont want any North players coming over to us.  I dont care if theyre dejected and miserable.

No-one ever gave a stuff about us in the bad times.

North tried to injure Langdon a few weeks ago and some other players too.
