This is a wish list not a tipping list. 😄

But yes I agree.

How does this sound for tips:  All the Home teams except Geelong, Lions and Saints😉

Wouldn't mind if Richmond softened up Sydney a little before we play them next week. Perhaps that thug Nankervis will oblige

Hate to say it but the game of the round is Pies v Carlton. I hope they knock lumps out of each other with the Pies prevailing

Don't know why but I'm super looking forward to the Pies V Blues game.

Hopefully Collingwood can get up. The lesser of two evils.

i'm mostly interested in the crowd

it SHOULD be upwards of 85-90k...but will it be?

thanks to covid, ticketek and umpiring, i very much doubt it

It could get close to that. A Carlton mate at work received a message at 9am this morning from the club stating that the game is now fully ticketed and for $7 he can upgrade his seat. We tried several times for him on Ticketek with his barcodes and couldn’t even get standing room or restricted view. He rang the club for help and they said all tickets have been exhausted. Probably won’t get to capacity due to staff shortages, but 80k is a real show according to the club.

Carlton fans love the umps though

i meant more the umpiring (i.e. the weird rules/interpretations they are expected to administer) than the umpires per se

but i see what you mean with carlscum at +33 and the filth at +23 frees differential for this game

not to forget also that carlscm fans think they have already won the flag

Just turned on - Nankervis head down into tackler - gets the free. 🤯

Bolton caught red handed HTB - not paid .  Free against tackler for dissent, but not 50.  Is this a new interpretation?  Haven't seen this before.

I don't care how close it is or how many goals scored.

What a bullsh*t spectacle when there is so much throwing, scooping, paddling, etc, going on. Dunno what it is, but it's not football.

No - only a 50 if team already has the mark/free kick. From a neutral ball it's a free kick.

Commentators picked that even before it was given - just undisciplined by swans

Tiges are playing well here

Swans have become very flaky. Teams can get a run on against too easily

The Swans are so poor. Constant turnovers, not doing the simple things like rushing a behind (Rampe) that resulted in a goal. Poor kicking for goal too

losing contested possessions and clearances again

i reckon they are just an average football team. They’ll be Lucky to make finals

What has happened to the Swannettes? They have lost it bad.
Tigers should thrash them

A month ago the Swans were red hot

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • PREGAME: Fremantle

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
