Get well soon Simon. SLEEP!!!

The perfect game for Adem to step in. Where he sits to control the team will be interesting.
I doubt we will notice much different watching the game

Richo will be working with him

good luck Adem

With all the depth on our coaching panel, it's going to be hard for Goodwin to break back in to the senior post.

It's exactly like Hunt/Bowey late last year.

Great opportunity for Yze.

I would hate to lose him, but at the same time I would be bloody happy if he was able to snag a senior coaching gig in the next year or two.

Bloke deserves it and is one of the best midfield coach and game day tactician going around in the AFL.

Quiet! Don't let them hear you.

Yze to coach from the box.  Hibbo to play for Casey.

Must have sneezed the wrong way down brunton ave.

Let me get this right. A close contact of covid doesn't have to isolate anymore but if you have it you are put in detention. Why am I so sceptical about all this.

Hmmm....very annoying. It goes to show that it is extremely contagious. He must have gotten it from either Jake Lever or Jack Viney perhaps?

Nevertheless, we all need to expect to have COVID-19 at least once.

Anyway, here is an article about it: https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/33812040/melbourne-demons-coach-simon-goodwin-covid-19-miss-round-7

Good luck to Adem Yze taking on the reigns as Melbourne Demons coach!

Dont know.

A close contact without symptoms doesnt have to isolate.  Just bringing us in line with NSW and from late tomorrow QLD.  I tried to check SA but their website defeated me.

I should also mention that I wish Simon Goodwin a speedy recovery!

Having COVID-19 is very frustrating. I had it myself a few weeks ago and then my Parents got it as well. They have both now recuperated but it definitely took longer than expected.

I still want to give Simon Goodwin a hug for helping end our 57 year Premiership drought but I will probably have to wait quite a while to be able to ever do that!  😂

If we lose, the legend of Goodwin will continue to grow

He's very relaxed and confident is Mr Yze. Going to be interesting to see how he goes after this season ie if he gets a head coaching gig he wants to take on, fingers crossed we get another year from him.

You are only as good as the weakest link in the team.

Not really concerned all that much at all.  The team behind the team look rock solid to me.

…..or another three or four more years!

Let’s see what secrets Yze has up his sleeve this week.

Do you think Goody will come back through Casey for a few weeks.??    Just asking cause my Wife wants to know... I know the answer of course and I will be at Casey fields to watch.

Is Yze the right man though ... when does someone start that thread?

Quarter time when we are down by 1 point

Good luck to Adem, he inspires great confidence, hope none of our players have got COVID from Goodwin and we go in with a near full team (only Salem out of best 22 atm with Viney and Lever back in).

How does not one reporter ask the sentimental question about how it feels to senior coach the club you played for, I think it’s pretty special, hasn’t happened many times for the MFC, last one was Barassi? No instead 15 questions about what Goodwin will do at home 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Go Oooooze smash those Hawks!!

Very professional from the club.

Boy they have changed from 7 years ago.

Should be seamless with Richardson, Yze, Choco and the line coaches all doing their thing with Goodwin watching from home

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
