It’s a weird feeling watching non-Melbourne games in this era.

There isn’t another team that currently looks really threatening to us.

Bloody love it!

Maybe in their weight division BBO. They need to beef up though if they want to go toe to toe with the heavyweight champions of the AFL.

You're all over it Ralph !!!! They are pizz ants!

As much as I’d love McKay in our forward line, he is quite injury prone. I can recall half a dozen games in the last 12 months where he has looked very proppy or playing hurt.

Struggle to get a game i reckon... :)

Is Jack Martin the most over paid player in the comp?

Line ball with Williams.

Great recruiting blues.

Touch of Darcy Parish about Sam Walsh. A lot of possessions for not much influence. Still, as BBO has reminded me, they're the Premiership faves.

The Brown Paper Baggers can only play 50 minutes

Talk Back Radio will be good next week

Things we are learning:

1. Carlton can’t deal with pressure.

2. Freo have copied our game plan……. but

3. They don’t have May, Lever, Petracca, Oliver or Brown.

pfft, langdon's was betterer

Blake Acres meant to kick that goal though

Hard to play our brand the way we play it. Requires dedication which Freo appear to have but time will tell whether they have the fitness and depth. Will be interesting to see this side once Fyfe comes back.

They could make a run for the top 4 next to the Lions and Cats. There isn’t anybody else left  (not sold on Saints and Doggies will struggle) I think that could string the required number of wins. Blues and Sydney will likely take 5 and 6. I think spots 6-14 will be separated by a maximum of 8 pts and % based on the even spread of the average teams in the Comp.

Enjoying this.  Would like to see Freo go beast mode in the last and put some big numbers up. I know a lot of Bluebagger fans. Related to more than my fair share as well.  I've rejoiced in their disappointment and would like to continue to do so.

Love the look of Schultz and Swikowski.

Carlton have a really good top 6-8 players then if falls off a cliff dramatically.

It does. But gosh Cripps is just a beast. He’s regularly putting up 30+ disposal, multiple goal games now.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
