That is a huge benefit for us as it enables us to rotate our mids and 'sore' players more often.  Ops don't have that luxury.

Tomlinson hasn't had enough credit on here for that effort mainly because none of us have noticed.

Yep. Like Alex Neal-Bullen, his being an exceptional endurance athlete goes under the radar. Has its advantages.

Just listening to the Yze podcast and he talks about mids/rucks going forward.  It was once a 'resting' role but we expect those players to contribute when forward which means do all the defensive work, GA and if poss kick goals themselves.

Its another way to make max use of our rotations.

Ed Langdon was such a good acquisition for the club. I was stoked when we got him and immediately called top 5 BnF. I’m so glad the coaches have been able to utilize his skill set and get the most out of him. For years we lacked a good wing options, trying heaps of inside mid types there with little success. Ed has added to much to the team, both offensively and defensively. His transition running is brilliant. The fact he’s not left the ground yet this season is staggering with the amount of running he does.

Outside injury Tommo has been serviceable down back last year and this year. Struggled on the wing I thought, but playing his role down back and hopefully he gets to taste premiership success later this year.

I can't stress enough how big an advantage these guys are. Alex Neal-Bullen and Tom McDonald are also high minutes players. and it allows you to really focus your rotation on players who benefit from playing in burts.

Having these guys would seriously help guys like Petracca who don't quite have the same tank

During his five years at Fremantle, Lingers only clocked more than 89% game time on three occasions - two of those being 91% in his last four games at the club. Debut for Melbourne: 100% ToG - and last season he only dipped below 89% once while averaging around 94%. Worth also noting that he's only missed two games since early in 2018, and I think one of those was to concussion.

So is it maturity, Burgess, or role?

He struggled a bit after his concussion which often happens but hes back to his sublime best.

Fast becoming one of my faves. Love his speed and skill to get way from his opponent. A joy to watch.

Not to forget that Langdon's kicking has improved out of sight from his Freo days.

Have a look at this little beauty 😇

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
